The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 12/02/2014:

 

 

Leonard A. Yarborough, 52 years of age, Address-Berwick, La. was arrested on 12/02/2014 @ 7:18pm

Charge: Theft (Value $52.83)

     Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. supermarket regarding a shoplifter.  Investigating officers were advised by store personnel that a detained male subject, Leonard Yarborough had attempted to steal bottles of alcohol valued at $52.83 by concealing the items and leaving the store before he was stopped by employees.  Yarborough was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated. 

 

 

Daniel Gonzalez, 28 years of age, Address-Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/02/2014 @ 9:41pm

Charge: No Drivers License; Improper Lighting

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Second St. with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Daniel Gonzalez was found to be operating a vehicle with no valid drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Darren T. Hemphill, 45 years of age, Address-Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/03/2014 @ 12:39am

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated; Resisting an Officer

     An officer observed Darren Hemphill begin to create a disturbance at the Waffle House located on Highway 182.  The officer intervened and determined that Hemphill was in an intoxicated condition.  Hemphill had refused to leave the premises when asked by an employee and began to use profanities.  The officer escorted Hemphill from the property and attempted to obtain transportation,however Hemphill refused to comply and was subsequently arrested.  He resisted attempted to place him under arrest and had to be physically subdued and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
