     Herman Butler was transported to the Morgan City Police Department jail facility and booked on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City.  He was booked and incarcerated.  He later posted a cash bond of $175.00 and was released.

Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Ocycodone; Possession of Schedule III CDS-Acetamenophine/Codeine; Possession of a Legend Drug w/o a Prescription 2 Counts (Cyclobenzaprine and Promenthazine); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law (Drug Free School Zone)

Morris Hatcher, 26 years of age, Address-Apple St. Morgan City, La. was  arrested on 01/26/2015 @ 6:59pm

Charge: Possession of a Schedule II CDS-Oxycodone; Possession of a Schedule III CDS-Acetaminophine/Codeine; Possession of a Legend Drug-2 Counts (Promenthazine, Cyclobenzaprine); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law (Drug Free School Zone)

     Morgan City Police Department Detectives conducted a search warrant at an Apple St. residence in regards to an investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics from the residence.  Investigators entered the residence with assistance from the St. Mary Parish Narcotics Task Force and identified suspects in the investigation as Morris Hatcher and Shekita Hayes, both residents.  During the search of the residence, detectives located items of drug paraphernalia along with Oxycodone and Acetamenophine/Codeine, both controlled dangerous substances.  Also recovered were prescription medications that required a valid prescription which the suspects could not provide.  The residence is within the prescribed "Drug Free School Zone" area near an elementary school, therefore the subjects were additionally charged.  They were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated with no bond yet set. 




Dava C. Leonard, 33 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 01/26/2015 @ 8:00 pm

Charge: Theft by Shoplifting; Possession of Schedule IV-Xanax; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Officers were dispatched to a Marguerite St. pharmacy in regards to a shoplifter.  Officers arrived and were advised of a female who was acting suspicious in the store and suspected of attempting to steal items and leave the store.  The suspect, Dava Leonard was detained and found to have concealed two bottles of perfume and fingernails.  She was stopped as she attempted to leave the store with the items which were valued at less than $100.00.  Leonard was placed under arrest and upon her arrest, a Schedule IV CDS-Xanax was located hidden inside a small flashlight on her person. She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 




Callum J. Brown, 26 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/27/2015 @ 1:47pm

Charge: No Drivers License; Speeding 62mph/35mph zone; Red Light Violation

     A patrollling officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on Highway 182 and clocked the vehicle at 62mph in a 35mph zone.  The vehicle was observed failing to stop at a red light displayed at Highway 182 and Martin Luther King Blvd.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Callum Brown identified.  Brown could not produce a valid drivers license and was subsequently placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
