MCPD Arrest Report 03/02/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 02/27/2015:




Roy C. Campbell, 49 years of age, Address-Pine Dr. Bayou L'Ourse, La. was arrested on 02/27/2015 @ 10:35am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fee-Theft
               Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Theft
               Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Resisting by Flight
               Warrant: Probation Violation

Jose Ramirez, 29 years of age, Address-Lake Palourde Rd. Amelia, La. was arrested on 02/27/2015 @ 8:10pm

Charge: No Drivers License
               Improper Turning


     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn in the area of Sixth St. and Florence St. and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver.  The driver, Jose Ramirez was discovered to be operating a vehicle without a drivers license.  Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Marquita Green, 31 years of age, Address-Spring, Texas was arrested on 02/27/2015 @ 11:54pm

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               Improper Turning
     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn in the area of Sixth St. and Kentucky St. and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver.  The driver, Marquita Green was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was subsquently placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

Kenneth Kiff Jr., 28 years of age, Address-Red Cypress Patterson, La. was arrested on 02/28/2015 @ 12:55am

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

     Officers were dispatched to a Marguerite St. pharmacy in regards to a subject causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and were directed to the subject, Kenneth Kiff Jr. who, according to witnesses appeared intoxicated and was observed stumbling into items in the store knocking them from the shelf.  Officers attempted to obtain transportation for Kiff from the area, however, he was uncooperative and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Demarcus Holly, 19 years of age, Address-Friendship Lane Amelia, La. was arrested on 02/282/105 @ 10:35am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee

     Demarcus Holly, who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City jail facility was booked on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City.  He was booked and remains incarcerated.

Nicole M. Fisher, 43 years of age, Address-Patterson, La. was arrested on 02/28/2015 @ 2:30pm

Charge:  Theft by Shoplifting (Value $53.99)
                Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine
                Warrant: Contempt of Court (2 Counts)

     Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. pharmacy in regards to a shoplifter.  Officers arrived and learned from witnesses that they suspected a customer, identified as Nicole Fisher of removing several items from packaging and removing the items from the store.  Officers, during their investigation learned that Fisher had removed several items from packaging, removing the items from the store and placing the items into a vehicle in the parking lot before returning to the store.  Officers recovered several items of makeup products valued at $53.99 and placed Fisher under arrest.  Fisher was also discovered to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City and was additionally charged.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and remains incarcerated.

Natasha Garner, 28 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/28/2015 @ 7:25pm

Charge: Improper LIghting
               Possession of Schedule II CDS-Hydrocodone

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Aucoin St. with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver who was identified as Natasha Garner.  The officer, during the stop located several pills of Hydrocodone, a controlled dangerous substance.  Garner, who could not provide a valid prescription for the substance was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Kurt P. Melancon, 45 years of age, Address-Gibson, La. was arrested on 02/28/2015 @ 8:47pm

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Victor II Blvd. in regards to an intoxicated subject. Officers arrived and located Kurt Melancon in the area and found him to be impaired.  Officers secured transportation for Melancon who then left the area and was advised he could not be in public in an intoxicated condition.  A short time later, Melancon was observed walking again in the area of the Morgan City Police Department and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department's jail facility where he was booked and incarcerated.

Salvador Knight, 42 years of age, Address-Sycamore St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/28/2015 @ 10:24pm

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               Speeding

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle speeding in the area of Everette St. and Fifth St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Salvador Knight was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He was released after posting a cash bond.

Douglas Waldrop, 63 years of age, Address-Village Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/01/2015 @ 12:09 am

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated

     Officers dispatched to an Allison St. location in regards to a subject sleeping near a bench located Douglas Waldrop in an impaired condition.  Waldrop was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

David Brown, 27 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/01/2015 @ 1:35am

Charge: Disturbing the Peace (4th Offense)
               Resisting an Officer

     Officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 2300 block of Federal Ave.  While investigating the complaint, David Brown a suspect in the disturbance was advised to leave the area and return home.  Brown refused to comply and began to cause a disturbance.  Officers attempted to place Brown under arrest at which time he began to pull away from officers.  The subject was eventually subdued and arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jairo Molina, 29 years of age, Address-Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/01/2015 @ 11:35am

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

     Officers responded to a Louisa St. residence for a domestic disturbance.  Officers arrived and learned from the witness and female victim that Jairo Molina Jr. and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation that led to Molina grabbing the victim and tossing her about the room.  Molina, who acknowledged the encounter was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
