     Patrolling officers located Ira Thomas nera the area of Justa St. and Roderick St. and placed him under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Shamus Dardeau, who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City Police Department jail facility was booked on an outstanding warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court.  He was booked and remains incarcerated.

     Patrolling officers observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner in the area of Brashear Ave. and stopped the vehicle to investigate. The driver, Rolins Anslum was determined to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was placed under arrest.  A passenger, Brook Fuselier was discovered to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court and was also placed under arrest.  Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. pharmacy in regardst to a shoplifter.  Officers arrived and learned that a w/m suspect had taken a bottle of alcoholic beverage and had fled the store without paying for the item.  The subject, who refused to stop for employees, left the scene prior to officers arrival.  Officers were able to identify Richard Giroir Jr. as a suspect in the theft and positively identified him using video evidence.  Giroir was located at his residence located on Arenz St. and placed under arrest for the theft.  Giroir was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court and was additionally charged.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 convenience store in regards to a shoplifter.  Officers were advised that the subject was attempting to leave the store in a vehicle and were provided a description.  Officers located a vehicle attempting to leave the scene and detained the vehicle and it's driver, Eric Billiot.  During the investigation, it was learned that Eric Billiot had attempted to conceal and commit a theft of an energy drink valued at $4.99.  When confronted, Billiot allegedly offered to pay the clerk $30.00 if she refrained from contacting police officers.  Billiot was positively identified by video evidence and witnesses statements.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

               Failure to Drive Right Lane on a Multi-Laned Roadway

     An officer patrolling the Highway 90 area of Morgan City observed a vehicle traveling in the left hand lane of a multi-laned roadway.  The vehicle, who was not observed in a passing maneuver was stopped and the driver identified as Steven Easton.  Easton, according to reports, exhibited signs of nervousness and was observed physically shaking.  Officers questioned Easton and a narcotics canine was utilized near the exterior of the suspects vehicle.  The narcotics canine indicated a response for the presence of illegal substances leading to a search of the vehicle.  Officers were able to locate suspected marijuana inside the suspects vehicle.  The suspect, Steven Easton was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Jeremy R. Jennings, 31 years of age, Address-Halsey St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/21/2015 @ 10:41am

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

     Officers were dispatched to a Halsey St. apartment in regards to a disturbance.  Officers arrived to locate a male subject, Jeremy Jennings outside the apartment.  Jennings was observed and heard to be yelling vulgarities and abusive language which caused others inside additional apartments to investigate.  As officers attempted to investigate the disturbance, Jennings continued his behavior and refused to cooperate with officers requests to cease.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers dispatched to the area of Federal Ave. in regards to an intoxicated subject located Julie Campos walking in the street screaming.  Campos, who appeared highly intoxicated was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers responded to a vehicle crash near the intersection of Federal Ave. and Aucoin St.  During the investigation, Bridget Jankwoski was identified as the driver of a vehicle involved.  According to witnesses, Jankowski made an improper turning motion, striking another vehicle and causing the collision.  Jankowski exhibited signs of impairment,  however she refused an field sobriety test.  Bridget Jankwoski was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was given an opportunity to submit to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test, however she also refused.  She was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Everette St. and Sixth St. regarding a fight involving several subjects.  Officers arrived and learned that subjects involved in the fight had fled the scene.  Investigating officers were able to locate several suspects and with the help of witnesses statements, identified the subjects involved.  The subjects, Kedesha Scott, Shailon Favors and Tradasha Brooks were identified and placed under arrest.  They were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. During the investigation, officers also located Rhondal Butler who was discovered to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City.  She was also arrested, booked and incarcerted.

     Officers were dispatched to a Belanger St. residence regarding a disturbance.  Officers arrived in the area to investigate.  During the investigation and upon speaking to witnesses, it was learned that Cheryl Verret, Leroy Verret, and Michele Blanchard had been involved in an altercation which turned into a physical altercation causing minor injuries to the subjects.  All subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Create/Operate a Clandestine Laboratory

     At 2:01am on 03/23/2015, officers were dispatched to the elevated portion of U.S. Highway 90 in regards to a vehicle fire.  Officers arrived to discover a vehicle burning with two occupants, Jewel Ross and Pearl Ross, both 31 years of age, of Amelia, La.  The fire was extinquished by the Morgan City Fire Department.  During the investigation, officers uncovered evidence which indicated that the subjects were in possession of a functioning clandestine laboratory used in the production of methempetamine.  Evidence indicated that the hazardous contents of the lab ignited, leading to a fire inside the vehicle.  A hazardous materials response team was summoned to the scene to recover and contain any hazardous waste products.  A passenger in the vehicle, Pearl Ross was flown to Teche Regional Hospital by AirMed unit of Acadian Ambulance Service with severe burns.  She was then transported to a Baton Rouge burn unit and was last listed in serious condition.  Jewel Ross, sister of Pearl Ross refused medical treatment for minor burns.  Investigators secured an arrest warrant for Jewel Ross based on the evidence recovered.  She was arrested and remains incarcerated in the Morgan City Police Department's jail facility with a bond of $100,000.00.  The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible based on the outcome of that investigation.
