Arrest Report 03/26/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 03/25/2015:




Austin W. Cox, 17 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/25/2015 @ 10:58am

Charge: Simple Assault

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. regarding a disturbance.  Officers arrived and learned that Austin Cox had been involved in the disturbance and during the disturbance had placed the victim in fear of receiving a battery.  Austin Cox was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incacerated.

Demarcus Skipper, 19 years of age, Address-Patterson, La. was arrested on 03/25/2015 @ 3:51pm

Charge: Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
               Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile
               Speeding (School Zone)- 30mph/15mph zone


Javien Francis, 17 years of age, Address-Berwick, La. was arrested on 03/25/2015 @ 3:51pm

Charge: Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
               Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Possession of Marijuana
               Warrant: Contempt of Court

     An officer patrolling a school zone area near Brashear Ave. and Federal Ave. observed a speeding vehicle within the school zone and determined the vehicle to be traveling at 30mph in a 15mph zone.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Demarcus Skipper.  Passengers Javien Francis along with a 15 year old juvenile were also identified.  Officers determined that Javien Francis was wanted on outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City.  He was placed under arrest.  Officers also located, with the assistance of a narcotics canine dog suspected marijuana inside the vehicle.  Both Francis and Skipper were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Geraldine M. Soto, 52 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/25/2015 @ 5:41pm

Charge: Warrant: Allowing Dogs to Roam


Albert R. Soto, 54 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/25/2015 @ 5:41pm

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation


     Both Albert Soto and Geraldine Soto were located on the corner of Leona St. and Federal Ave. and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City.  They were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Alma A. Morales, 43 years of age, Address-Duke St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/25/2015 @ 9:16pm

Charge: Careless Operation
               Hit & Run Driving

     Officers responded to a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Bowman St. and Federal Ave. Officers arrived and located a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.  The pedestrian was transported to a medical facilty with minor injuries.  Witnesses described a suspect vehicle which had left the scene.  investigators were able to locate the suspect vehicle and the driver, Alma Morales.  Morales admitted to her involvment in the incident and was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
