MCPD Arrest Report 04/13/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department begining 04/10/2015


Dava Leonard, 33 years of age, Address-Sixth St, Berwick,La. was arrested on 04/10/2015 @2:20 am.


Charges: Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
                 Improper Parking
                 Driving while Intoxicated
                 Hit and Run Driving 
                 No Drivers License
                 Possession of drug paraphernalia
                  Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner.  Officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description given to them stopped in the roadway with no lights on.  The driver was identified as Dava Leonard was found to be sleeping inside the vehicle.  Officers determined that Leonard appeared to be in an impaired condition, Leonard submitted to a field sobriety test which she did poorly on.  Leonard was arrested.  Officers also found through their investigation that Leonard ran off the roadway and struck a garbage can. During the encounter, Officers also located items determined to be drug paraphernalia inside Leonard's vehicle.  Leonard was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .27g%.  She was booked and incarcerated.

Darbin Suazo, 20 years of age, Address-Chester Bowles, Morgan City,La. was arrested on 04/11/2015 @ 2:08 pm

Charges: Hit and Run Driving
                 No Drivers license
                 No Insurance 
                 Switched License Plate
                 No registration
                 Careless Operation
   
     Officers with the patrol division responded to a call of a hit and run accident.  The victim of the hit and run followed the vehicle and alerted the officers to the location.  Officers located the driver identified as Darbin Suazo.  Suazo was questioned about the accident at which time it was determined that he did not have a valid driver's license.  Officers also determined that Suazo's vehicle did not have insurance or proper paper work.  Suazo was arrested and transported to Morgan City Police Department where he was incarcerated.

Peter Grogan, 37 years of age, Address Railroad Ave, Morgan City,La. was arrested on 04/12/2015 @ 1:53 am.


Charge: Theft of Goods (value $21.50)


     Officers investigated a theft from a Hwy 182 business.  According to report store employees witness the suspect identified as Peter Grogan leave the store with merchandise he did not pay for.  Grogan was stopped as he exited the store and held there until Officer arrived.  Grogan was observed on video taking the items and after a short time inside the store leave with the items.  Grogan was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he remains incarcerated.
