MCPD Arrest Report 05/18/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 05/15/2015:  


Julio A. Marquez, 44 years of age, Address-Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/15/2015 @ 10:13 am.


Charge:  Hit and Run Driving
                No Driver's License

     Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Federal Ave. in regards to a hit and run vehicle accident.  When officers arrived, the owner of one of the vehicles stated that he was in his back yard when he heard a loud crash.  He proceeded to the front of his residence and noticed the rear of his vehicle damaged with a side mirror of another vehicle lying in the roadway. A witness stated that she noticed a small black vehicle crash into the victim's vehicle and proceed north on Federal Ave. Officers patrolled the area and noticed a small black vehicle on Franklin St. with fresh damage and a side view mirror missing. The driver of the vehicle, Julio Marquez was asked about the damage to his vehicle.  According to reports, he admitted to crashing into the vehicle, but stated he was afraid and did not stop.  Marquez also did not have a valid driver's license. Marquez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. He was later released on bond.

Felton Charles, 32 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/15/2015 @ 3:15 pm


Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery (3rd Offense)

     Officers were dispatched to a residence on South Railroad Ave. in regards to someone taking a cellphone. When officers arrived, the victim stated that Felton Charles had taken her cellphone and refused to return it.  Officers located Charles and he agreed to return the phone to the victim.  While returning the phone, Charles lunged towards the victim and struck her in the chest area.  Charles was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jeremie M. Paul, 24 years of age, Address-Mallard St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/16/2015 @ 3:49 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fine
               Hold for Probation and Parole

     Officers patrolling the area of Seventh St. near Clothilde St., noticed Jeremie Paul in the area. Officers was aware of active warrants for Paul's arrest.  Paul was stopped and told of the warrants. He was placed under arrest for warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court and violating probation for the Department of Corrections. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Zachary J. Rainey, 25 years of age, Address- Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/16/2015 @ 4:39 am.


Charge: Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Pecos and Glenwood St. in regards to a suspicious person in the area.  A description was given and officers located Zachary Rainey in the area.  According to reports, officers located suspected marijuana on Rainey. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Preston S. Cuvillier, 20 years of age, Address-Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/17/2015 @ 12:11 am. 


Charge: Two Tail Lamps Required
                Warrant-Failure to Appear for General Speed Law

     A patrol officer in the area of Brashear Ave., noticed a vehicle with improper lighting.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Preston Cuvillier was asked to produce a valid driver's license.  A local warrants check was done on Cuvillier and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. He was later released on bond.

Dalton G. Andras, 17 years of age, Address-Longville, La. was arrested on 05/17/2015 @ 2:23 pm. 


Charge: Loud Music From Vehicle
               Possession of Sch l CDS (marijuana-1st offense)
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     A patrol officer in the area of LA 182 near US 90 Junction, noticed a vehicle with extremely loud music coming from inside the vehicle.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Dalton Andras was asked to produce a valid driver's license. During the course of the investigation, the officer noticed tobacoo products in Andras' vehicle and considering Andras' age it was unlawful for him to possess those items.  The officer asked Andras for consent to search his vehicle and consent was given. The officer located suspected marijuana and a pipe commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics in the vehicle.  Andras was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. Andras was later released on bond.

Latasha L. Thomas, 28 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/17/2015 @ 10:12 pm.

     An officer in the area of Everette St. and Federal Ave., noticed a vehicle with no license plate displayed. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Latasha Thomas was asked to produce a valid driver's license.  Thomas stated to the officer that she believes her license is under suspension.  A computer check was done on her driver's license and it was determined that her license was suspended.  Thomas did not have the proper registration for the vehicle or insurance.  Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. Thomas was later released on bond.
