MCPD Arrest Report 09/14/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 09/11/2015:

Dantrell I. Garrett, 29 years of age, Address- Victor II Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/11/2015 @ 9:29 pm.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana 4th Offense
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law
Driving Under Suspension
Failure to Use Turn Signal

Dantrell I. Garrett

A patrol officer in the area of Roderick near Wychwood St. observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal. A traffic was conducted and the driver, Dantrell Garratt was asked to produce the proper paperwork for his vehicle. It was determined that Garrett's driver's license was under suspension. Garrett was placed under arrest. Inside the vehicle the officer located suspected marijuana and items used to smoke illegal narcotics. Garrett was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

John F. Sanford, 46 years of age, Address- Fourth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/11/2015
@ 9:44 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Domestic Abuse Battery

John Sanford was located at his residence on Fourth St. and placed under arrest for an active warrant for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems for an incident in June of 2015, which alleges Sanford and a female victim had gotten into a physical altercation. Sanford was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Joseph E. Brown, 32 years of age, Address- Raceland, La. was arrested on 09/11/2015 @ 11:15 pm.

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated
Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information
Taking Contraband to/from Penal Institution
Possession of Sch IV Alprazolam
Warrant-Probation Violation (2ct)

Joseph E. Brown

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Eleventh St. in regards to a disturbance. When officers arrived, they were told that the individual that caused the disturbance had left walking on Railroad Ave. A description was given and officers located, Joseph Brown in the area of Railroad Ave. and Oak St. While talking to Brown, officers could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, an officer located a pill identified as Alprazolem on Brown. Also, it was learned that Brown had given officers a false name, prior to being arrested. Warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court and the 16th Judicial District were discovered for Brown and he was additionally charged.

Alexis Nerve, 31 years of age, Adddress- Wren St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/12/2015 @ 3:25 pm.

Charge: Disturing the Peace
Theft of Goods

Officers were dispatched to a local business on LA Hwy 182 in regards to a disturbance. When officers arrived, they were told that an employee, Alexis Nerve had left the business and taken items without paying for them.The items totalled $6.15. When the employee returned, she caused a disturbance. Officers were able to located Nerve in the area of David Dr. Nerve was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jeffery A. McCracken, 50 years of age, Address-River Rd. Berwick, La. was arrested on 09/12/2015 @ 7:06 pm.

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated

Officers were dispatched to the area of Ditch Ave. in regards to an individual laying on the ground. Officers arrived and made contact with Jeffery McCracken. McCracken appeared intoxicated and had a smell of alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. McCracken was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Casey R. Reeves, 35 years of age, Address- Kinder, La. was arrested on 09/12/2015 @ 9:21 pm.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
Failure to Use Turn Signal

A patrol officer in the area of LA 70 and the US 90 junction observed a vehicle fail use a turn signal. A traffic was conducted and the driver, Casey Reeves was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Reeves' license was under suspension. Reeves was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Departmen for booking and incarceration.

Jeremy R. LaCarte, 25 years of age, Address- Florence St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/12/2015 @ 10:16 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear (5cts)

Jeremy LaCarte was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a traffic stop. A warrants check was done on LaCarte and it was determined that he held active warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court. LaCarte was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Shawn M. Guidry, 37 years of age, Address-Henry St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 09/13/2015 @
2:31 am.

Shawn M. Guidry

A patrol officer in the area of Second and St. Clair St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. The vehicle was stopped to investigate. The driver, Shawn Guidry was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Guidry's driver's license was under suspension. Guidry also held warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. Guidry was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Derrick J. Jones, 33 years of age, Address-Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/13/2015 @ 7:27 am.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery
Disturbing the Peace

Officers were dispatched to a residence on Egle St. in regards to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, the victim explained that Derrick Jones had struck her in the face. Officers did notice marks in the victim's face consistent with her statment. Jones was located outside the residence and was using profanities in the presence of the neighbors and children in the area. According to reports, Jones did admit to pushing the victim. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
