MCPD Arrest Report 10/02/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 10/01/2015:


Jasmine M. Thomas, 17 years of age, Address- Canary St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/01/2015 @ 3:22 pm.


Charge:  Disturbing the Peace by Alarming the Public

Javien J. Francis, 18 years of age, Address- Canary St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/01/2015 @  3:22 pm.


Charge:  Disturbing the Peace by Alarmin the Public
                Warrant- Failure to Apear (2ts)
                Warrant- Probation Violation

     Officers were dispatched to a residence on Canery St. in regards to locating a female identified as  Jasmine Thomas. When officers arrived, contact was made with Javien Francis. Francis was asked about Jamine Thomas and he began to yell and use profanities outside of the residence. Thomas was located at the residence and she began to cause a disturbance.  A local warrants check was done on Francis and it was determined that he held active warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court. Both Francis and Thomas were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Nathaniel Washington, 36 years of age, Address-Levee Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/01/2015 @ 5:57 pm.


Charge:   Domestic Abuse Battery
                 Possession of Sch I Synthetic Marijuana 2nd Offense
                 Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substance Law
   Officers were dispatched to a residence on Levee Rd. in regards to a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, the victim stated that she and her husband, Nathaniel Washington had gotten into a verbal altercation that later turned physical. According to reports, officers observed  abrasions in the facial area of the victim that were consistent with her statements.  Officers were able to locate Washington inside the residence, he was placed under arrest. Officers also located synthetic marijuana in Washington's possession. Washington was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Brodie Romero, 32 years of age, Address- Hwy 90 New Iberia, La. was arrested on 10/02/2015 @ 6:45 am.


Charge- Warrant- Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling (St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office)

     Brodie Romero was located in the area of Hwy 70. A local warrats check was done on Romero and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office. Romero was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
