MCPD Arrest Report 10/06/2015

The following persons have been arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 10/05/2015.


Melanie Rink, 41 years of age, Address: First Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2015 @ 3:00 P.M. 


Charges: Warrant for Forgery (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)
                 Warrant for Theft (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)

     Melanie Rink was already being housed in the Morgan City Police Department Jail. Warrants for Rink's arrest were obtained by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office at which time she was booked on those warrants and remains incarcerated.

Benjamin T. Wever, 39 years of age, Address: 9th Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2015 @ 5:19 P.M.


Charge: Appearing in an Intoxicated Condition

     Officers responded to a residence on Arizona Street in regards to an intoxicated subject near a residence in the area. The officer located Benjamin Wever laying in the grass near a vehicle. According to reports the officer made contact with Wever and appeared to be in an intoxicated condition. Wever was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kaylynn R. Driskill, 28 years of age, Address: Terrebone Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2015 @ 8:37 P.M. 



Charges: Improper License Plate Lighting
                No Proof of Vehicle Insurance
                Switched License Plate      An officer was patroling the area of Sixth St. when they observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Kaylynn Driskill. Driskill was asked to produce a valid drivers license. During the course of the investigation it was learned that the vehicle did not have proof of vehicle insurance and that the license plate on the vehicle was switched. Driskill was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Ciara V. Williams, 27 years of age, Address: Third Street, Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2015 @ 10:16 P.M.


Charges:  Contempt of Court

     Ciara Williams was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Officer Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department Jail in regards to an active warrant held by the 6th Ward City Court. Williams was booked on the warrant and incarcerated.
