MCPD Arrest Report 10/15/2015

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 10/14/2015:


Keith A. Caywood, 52 years of age, Address-Franklin, La. was arrested on 10/14/2015 @ 11:27 am.


Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Appear ( No Driver's License)
                Warrant- Failure to Appear (Stop Sign Violation)

     Keith Caywood was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Caywood was booked and incarcerated. 
Katherine Maher, 19 years of age, Address- Bernice St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/14/2015 @ 8:01 pm.

Ashlyn R. Morgel, 18 years of age, Address- Filmore St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/14/2015 @ 8:13 pm.

     Officers were dispatched to a residence on Filmore St. in regards to a disturbance. When officers arrived, witnessess informed officers that Katherine Maher and Ashlyn Morgel had gotten into a physical altercation, Officers were able to speak to both parties involved and according to reports, Maher and Ashlyn both admitted to engaging in a physical altercation. Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 
Rashaud A. Thomas, 21 years of age, Address- Grace St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 10/14/2015 @ 9:21 pm.


Charge:  Driving Under Suspension
                Speeding (48 in a 35 )
                Warrant- Failure to Appear ( Possession of Marijuana)

   A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 and David Dr. observed a vehicle traveling at a rate higher than what was posted.  A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Rashaud Thomas was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Thomas driver's license was suspended. Thomas also held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
