The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 02/03/2016.

Donna Reed, 45 years of age, Address: Gen Patton St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 1:41am.

Charge:  
Warrant - Failure to Appear for Theft by Shoplifting
                Possession of Clonazepam
                Entering Contraband into a Penal Facility

     Donna Reed was located by officers at a local medical center on Hwy 70 where she was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Reed was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail for booking where a more thorough search was conducted and suspected clonazepam was located concealed on Reed. Reed was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. 

Raphael Valentine, 33 years of age, Address: Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 7:52am.

Charge:  Warrant - Failure to Appear for No Seatbelt

     Raphael Valentine was located by officers on Federal Ave. near Brasehar Ave. where he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Dist. Court. Valentine was transported to the Morgan City Police Deaprtment where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Melanie C Poole, 32 years of age, Address: New Iberia, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 9:54am. 

Charges:  Possession of Methamphetamine
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Jessica S Martin, 36 years of age, Address: Mill Rd. Patterson, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 9:54am.

Charges:  Expired License Plate
                  Possession of Methamphetamine
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Freret St. near Sixth St. with an expired license plate. A traffic stop was conducted when officer identified the driver Jessica S Martin and passenger Melanie C Poole. The occupants behavior during the investigation aroused officers suspicions that they may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted when officers located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia which neither Martin or Poole claimed as theirs. Martin and Poole were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where they were booked and incarcerated. 

Kevin Verret, 35 years of age, Address: Ponchatoula, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 10:55am.

Charges:  Improper Tail Lighting
                 Driving Under Suspension

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Belanger St. near Second St. with no brake lights. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Kevin Verret. A driver license check revealed that Verret had a suspended drivers license. Verret was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Tonisheka M Davis, 33 years of age, Address: Robin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 3:22pm.

Charge:  Warrant - Contempt of Court

     Tonisheka M Davis was placed under arrest in the 6th Ward Margan City Court in regard to an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Court. Davis was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail and incarcerated. 

Donald Benoit, 50 years of age, Address: Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/03/2016 @ 5:04pm.

Charge:  Possession of Alprazolam

     Patrolling officers observed a subject identified as Donald Benoit in the area of Federal Ave. near Oil Tank Alley.  Beniot's behavior aroused officer's suspicions they he may be involed in illegal drug activity. An investigation was conducted by the officers when Benoit was found to be in possession suspected alprazolam. Benoit was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

James Nicholas, 38 years of age, Address: Birch St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/04/2016 @ 1:50am.

Charges:  Appearing in Public in an Intoxicated Condition
                  Entering or Remaining in Places After Being Forbidden

     An officer responded to a local store on Hwy 182 in regard to an intoxicated subject inside who was banned from the property. Officers located the subject inside the store who was identified as James Nicholas. During contact with Nocholas officers suspected that he had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. It was also confirmed that Nicholas had been barred from the store due to a previous similar incident. Nicholas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
