The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 02/08/2016.

Carlven Chapman, 39 years of age, Address: Louisiana St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/08/2016 @ 9:49pm.

Charges:

     Officers responded to an address on St. Clair Street in regard to a subject at the residence making threats. Officers arrived when a subject known to the officers as Carlven Chapman was seen standing in front of one of the windows to the residence. Chapman seeing the officers, fled the area on foot. A foot chase ensued and officers lost sight of Chapman. A description was provided to the responding officer when Chapman was observed getting into the passenger seat of a vehicle and attempting to leave the area. Officers stopped the vehicle; at which time Chapman was located and arrested.  The officers were told by the victim that Chapman had called the victim and had threatened the victim. Shortly after Chapman arrived at the vitim's residence and had attempted to enter the residence through the front door but was unable to do so. Champan then went to the side of the residence where he attempted to open a window. Reports indicate that while doing so, Chapman had threatened to burn down the residence. Chapman was transported to the Morgan City Police Department were he was booked and incarcerated. 

Randy L. Hatcher, 37 years of age, Address: Fourth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 1:52am.

Charges:  3 Counts of Aggravated Assault
                  Disturbing the Peace
                  Resisting An Officer

     Officers resonded to a local business on Barrow Street in regard to a subject causing a disturbance and needing to be removed. The officers arrived and located Randy L. Hatcher standing in front the business. The managment along with witnesses told the officers that Hatcher had entered the business when he began shouting using profane language.  Hatcher then produced a knife and threatened to kill several of the people inside. The officers then retrieved a knife located on Hatcher which was the knife believed to be involved in the incident. Hatcher was then placed under arrest when he began fighting with officers. After a short struggle Hatcher was taken into custody. Hatcher was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Bryson Johnlewis, 20 years of age, Address: Peach St. Jennerette, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 7:06pm.

Charges:  Improper Brake Lights
                  No Drivers License
                  Switched License Plate
                  No Child Restraint

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd. near Allison Street with improper brake lighting.   A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Bryson Johnlewis. A drivers license check was conducted and it was learned that Johnlewis did not have a drivers license and the license plate dispalyed belonged to another vehicle. A small child, 3 years of age, was oberved in the back seat with no child restraint. Johnlewis was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Drew L. Landry, 20 years of age, Address: Demar St. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 7:10pm.

Charges:  Resisting an Officer
                  Appearing In Public In an Intoxicated Condition

     Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 182 in regard to a disturbance. Responding officers were provided with a description of one of the subjects involved who had left the area. Moments later, officers located Drew L. Landry who fit the description of the subject invovled. Landry began running from officers and a foot chase ensued. Landry was captured moments later and arrested. Landry was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Landry was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Jordan P. Streva, 20 years of age, Address: Oak Harbor Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 7:54pm.

Charge:  Entering or Remaining Where Forbidden

     An officer investigated an incident at a local business on Hwy 182. Jordan P. Streva was told by the officer to leave the business and not return. Streva left the area without incident.  Later that same evening, the officer observed Streva back inside the business. Streva was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Barbara A. Cook, 34 years of age, Address: 12th St. Thibodaux, La. was arrested on 02/10/2016 @ 12:51am.

Charges:  
Disturbing the Peace by Fighting
                  Aggravated Assault

     
Officers responded to an address on Bush St. in regard to a report of a fight. The officers were told by the victim and witness that Barbara A. Cook had gone to the residence on Bush Street where she and the victim were involved in a fight. After the fight, Cook got into a vehicle and nearly struck the victim as she was leaving the area. Cook was located by officers in the area moments later; at which time, she was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 


Christopher Singleton, 40 years of age, Address: Ramos St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2016 @ 12:56am. 


Charges:  Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense
                  Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Law

Terrell Poole, 25 years of age, Address: Ramos St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 10:03pm. 

Charges:  Warrant - Failure to Appear for Speeding
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Samantha Poole, 42 years of age, Address: Filmore St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/10/2015 @ 12:56am.

Charge:  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

 
    Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives along with the assistance of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Filmore Street. Christopher Singleton, Samantha Poole and Terrell Poole were occupants located inside the residence. During the search, investigators located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A warrants check revealed that the 6th Ward Morgan City Court held an active arrest warrant for Terrell Poole. Christopher Singleton, Terrell Poole and Samantha Poole were all  placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.
