MCPD Arrest Report 02/22/2016
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 02/19/2016.
Drizzt A Morales, 19 years of age, Address: Legrange St. Franklin, La. was arrested on 02/19/2016 @ 1:23pm.
Charges: Warrant - Possession of Methamphetamine
Warrant - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Drizzt A Morales was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Jail to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active arrest warrant held by Morgan City Police. Morales was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Devante Frank, 23 years of age, Address: Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2016 @ 3:00pm.
Charge: Warrant - Contempt of Court
Devante Frank was transported from Compass Behavior Center to the Morgan City Police Department Jail in regard to an active arrest warrant held by Morgan City Police. Frank was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Trent A Giroir, 18 years of age, Address: Mooringsport, La. was arrested on 02/19/2016 @ 7:09pm.
Charges: Improper Turning
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Warrant - Speeding
Patrolling officers observed a vehicle making an improper turn at the intersection of Front Street and Onstead Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Trent A Giroir. A drivers license and warrants check was conducted which revealed that Giroir had a suspended drivers license and that there was an active arrest warrant held by the Patterson Police Department at whtich time Giroir was placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle was conducted when when officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Giroir was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Edson A Silva, 22 years of age, Address: Cynthia St. Amelia, La. was arrested on 02/20/2016 @ 3:58am.
Charges: No Drivers License
Improper Lane Usage
Possession of an Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Hwy 182 near Pecos St. crossing out of its lane of travel. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver identified as Edson A Silva. A drivers licese check was conducted which revealed that Silva did not have a valid drivers license. Officers also observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Silva was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
George D Harvey, 34 years of age, Address: Cane St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2016 @ 7:13am.
Charge: Criminal Trespassing
Aketa R Francis, 23 years of age, Address: Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2016 @ 7:13am.
Charge: Criminal Trespassing
An officer responded to an address on Federal Ave. in regard to a complaint of subjects tresspassing on the property. The officer arrived and located George D Harvey and Aketa Francis on the front pourch of the residence. The officer spoke with the owner of the residence who told the officer that Harvey and Francis had been removed from the property in the past and was told not to return. Both Harvey and Aketa were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.
Phillip K Begley, 45 years of age, Address: Seventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2016 @ 3:00pm.
Charges: Warrant - Hit and Run
Warrant - Carless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Phillip K Begley turned himself in at the Morgan City Police Department in regard to active arrest warrants held by Morgan City Police. Begley was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Robin Carbin, 48 years of age, Address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2016 @ 9:22pm.
Charge: Appearing In Public in an Intoxicated Condition
An officer reponded to a local business on Hwy 182 in regard to a subject requesting medical attention. During the investigation the officer came into contact with Robin Carbin who was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Carbin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Bernard Pharagood, 29 years of age, Address: Hyland St. Thibodaux, La. was arrested on 02/21/2016 @ 3:39am.
Charges: Improper Lighting
Driving Under Suspension
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Hwy 182 near Pecos Street with improper lighting in the rear of the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Bernard Pharagood. A drivers license check revealed that Pharagood had a suspended drivers license. Pharagood was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
James R Goode, 39 years of age, Address: Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/21/2016 @ 11:44am.

An officer responded to a local business on Hwy 70 in regard to a traffic accident. While responded, the officer was notified that one of the vehicle involved was attempting to flee the area. It was reported that a witness to the incident began following the fleeing vehicle at which time the vehicle returned to the scene of the accident. Officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle identified identified as James R Goode. A warrants check was conducted which revealed that there were active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department for Goode. Goode was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
Charlie Bennett, 44 years of age, Address: Violet St. Thibodaux, La. was arrested on 02/21/2016 @ 4:33pm.

Charges: Felony Theft of Goods (3 Counts)
An officer responded to a local store on Brashear Avenue in regard to a report of a shoplifter. The officer arrived at that store when it was learned that the suspect involved had fled the area prior to the officer's arrival. Reports indicated that the officer viewed video footage of the subject later identified as Charlie Bennett walking out of the store and loading numerous items into a vehicle. Bennett who was assisted by a female identified as Saisha Willoughby then get into a vehicle and fled the area. A description of the vehicle was provided to officers when the vehicle was observed at a local business on Brashear Avenue. The officer observed Bennett near the vehicle when the officer told Bennett to stop. Bennett got into the vehicle and pulled out into traffic at which time he began fleeing from officers. A vehicle chase ensued when officers chased Bennett north on Sixth Street when Bennett was observed driving at speeds estimated at 65mph. It was reported that Bennett ran several vehicle off the roadway as he went out of the lane of travel to pass other vehicles. Bennett was also observed running several stop signs with no regard for other motorist or pedesetrians. The chase continued through several residential areas then onto Hwy 70 where officers were able to get the vehicle stopped. Both Bennett and Willoughby were taken into custody. Officer located the items reported stolen from the store on Brashear Avenue along with items from two other local stores in Morgan City. The investigation further revelealed that Bennett and Willoughby had also gone to the two other stores in Morgan City where they stole items and fled the area. A drivers license check revelaed that Bennett had a suspended drivers license. Both Bennett and Willoughby were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.
Ryan E Dixon, 27 years of age, Address: Everett St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/21/2016 @ 5:08pm.
Charges: Possession With the Intent to Distribute Cocaine

Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws
Obstruction of Justice
Officers responded to a park under the US 90 Bridge near Sixth Street in regard to a compalint of drug acitvity. A description of one of the subjects was provided to responding officers who located Rayn E Dixon in the area. During the investigation, reports indicated that Dixon was observed reaching into his pocket and throwing an object across the street attempting to dispose of the item. Dixon was detained and the item discarded by Dixon retrived by officers. Inside the discarded object officers located suspected cocaine which officers believed to be packaged for distribution. The location of the incident was also within the area of a two local churches in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Dixon was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
