Eric S. Gaskins, Age-45, Addreess- Wren St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/23/2016 @ 12:20 pm.
Charges: Theft of Goods ($72.29)
Remaining After Being Forbidden
Resisting an Officer
Obstruction of Justice
Simple Criminal Damage to Property
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (8th Offense)
Possession of Marijuana
Officers responded to a local supermarket in regard to an individual that had allegedly stolen items from the store. When officers arrived, the individual was identified as Eric Gaskins. While trying to detain Gaskins, he resisted officers, but was later subdued. Officers also located drug paraphernalia in Gaskins possession . According to reports, management witnessed Gaskins conceal an item valued at $72.29. Gaskins was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. Once at the police department, Correctional Officers located suspected marijuana in a backpack belonging to Gaskins, he was additonally charged .
Brennan N. Skinner, Age-23, Address- Grace St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/23/2016 @ 5:15 pm.
Charge: Contempt of Court
Brennen Skinner was transported to the Morgan City Police Department, after being charged with contempt in the 6th Ward City Court. Skinner was booked and incarcerated.
John D. Pitts, Age-34, Address- Patton St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/23/2016 @ 9:21 pm.
Charge: Hit and Run Driving
Speeding 65/35
Officers were dispatched to a local business on Railroad Ave. in regard to a hit and run. When officers arrived, they were told by witnesses that a vehicle had backed into another parked vehicle and left the area. A description the vehicle was given out and officers were able to located the vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Hwy 182 near Cottonwood St. The driver, identified as John Pitts was brought back to Railroad Ave. According to reports, witnesses identified Pitts as the driver. Pitts was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
