MCPD Arrest Report 03/22/2016

The folllowing persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 03/21/2016:

Shanita M. Watts, 38 years of age, Address- Barrow St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/21/2016 @ 6:45 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Contempt of Court

  Shanita Watts was located on Seventh St. A local warrants check was done on Watts and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Watts was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Heidi R. Sams, 37 years of age, Address- Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/21/2016 @ 10:07 pm. 

Charge:  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                No turn Signal

  An officer in the area of Second St. observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal while turning on to Brashear Ave. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Heidi Sams was asked to exit the vehicle. The officer was given consent to search Sams' vehicle and located inside was an item used to smoke illegal narcotics. Sams was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
