MCPD Arrest Report 04/25/2016
Robert Gould Jr., 17 years of age, Address: Francis Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/22/2016 @ 10:11am.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws
An officer responded to a local school in regard to a student having marijuana. The officer arrived and spoke to a school administrator who told the officer that they had recieved information that a student, Robert Gould Jr. was alleged to be in possession of marijuana while inside the school. An investigation was conducted by the school administration when Gould Jr. was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The suspected marijuana was turned over to the officer at which time Gould was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Luis G Rodriguez-Cruz, 32 years of age, Address: Lake Palourde Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/22/2016 @ 10:00pm.
Charge: Hit and Run Driving
Officers responded to the area of La. 70 near Lake End Park in regard to a call of a vehicle crash. While responding, officers were told that the vehicle involved in the crash had left the scene. A description of the vehicle was provided when officers located the vehicle moments later. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Luis G Rodriguez-Cruz. An investigation was conducted and according to reports it was determined that Cruz's vehicle was involved in the crash and had fled the scene. Cruz was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Derrick J Jones, 34 years of age, Address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/23/2016 @ 1:13am.
Charges: Possession With the Intent to Distribute Synthetic Marijuana

Officers responded to a local hotel on Brashear Avenue in regard to Derrick J Jones being at the location. It was known by the responded officers that Jones had several active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. The officers arrived in the area and located Jones near the hotel. Jones was placed under arrest at which time he began to resist officers and fled on foot. A foot chase then ensued when officers captured Jones moments later. Jones was transported to the Morgan Jail where a thorough search was conducted when officer located suspected synthetic marijuana on Jones. Jones was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Tammy M James, 52 years of age, Address: Columbus Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/23/2016 @ 6:18am.
Charge: Warrant - Defamation
Tammy M James was located at a local convenience store on Hwy 182 where she was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from the result of an investigation conducted in regard to report filed on March 19, 2016. James was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Cody Gibbs, 20 years of age, Address: Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/23/2016 @ 1:55pm.
Charges: Disturbing the Peace
Criminal Damage to Property
Officers responded to a local medical facility on La. 70 in regard to Cody Gibbs at the location causing a disturbance. The officers arrived when Gibbs was located and detained for further investigation. Officers were told by several witnesses that Gibbs was inside the facility causing a disturbance by using profane language and was alleged to have damage property of the medical facility which was observed by the officers. Gibbs was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Robert J Prejent Jr., 17 years of age, Address: Hwy 182 Franklin, La. was arrested on 04/23/2016 @ 2:25pm.

Loud Music
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Eighth Street playing loud music. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Robert J Prejent. During the stop, Prejent's behavior aroused the officer's suspicions that Prejent may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search was conducted when the officer located suspected marijuana, paraphernalia and tobacco products. Prejent was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Darell Gash, 35 years of age, Address: Blum St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 04/24/2016 @ 12:02pm.
Charge: Appearing in Public In An Intoxicated Condition
Officers responded to a local apartment complex on Hwy 182 in regard to a subject passed out in front of one of the rooms. The officers arrived when they located Darell Gash who fit the description provided and appeared to be sleeping. The officers made contact with Gash when it was believed that Gash had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Gash was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
