MCPD Arrest Report 07/22/2016
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 07/21/2016:
Donald J. Rock Jr., 39 years of age, Address-Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/20/2016 @ 1:56 pm.
Charge: Possession of Marijuana (2nd Offense)
Officers responded to a business on Hwy 182 in regards to stolen property. Officers arrived and made contact with Donald Rock, who consented to a search of his person. Officers located suspected marijuana on Rock. Rock was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jason E. Deal, 45 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/21/2016 @ 2:46 pm.
Charge: Distrubing the Peace Intoxicated
Jason Deal was placed under arrest during court proceedings in the City Court of Morgan City. Deal had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his person. Deal was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Gary Viola, 59 years of age, Address-Cedar St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/21/2016 @ 7:58 pm.
Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery
Criminal Damage to Property over $500
Officers responded to a residence on Cedar St. in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to a witness, who stated that she and Gary Viola had gotten into a verbal altercation. According to reports, the witness stated the argument escalated and Viola committed a battery on her and began destorying property inside of the home. Officers were able to located Viola in the area of Sixth St. and Brashear Ave. Viola was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Scott P. Authement, 34 years of age, Address- Main St. Patterson, was arrested on 07/21/2016 @ 10:07 pm.
Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Methamphetamine with Intent to Disturbute
Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Schedule II CDS- Flexeril
Possession of Schedule IV CDS-Adderall
Transactions Involving Proceeds from CDS Activity
Illegal Carrying of Weapons
Illegal Use of CDS in Presence of Person under 17 years of age
Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone
Kelly K. Franklin, 25 years of age, Address- Tower Tank Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/21/2016 @ 10:07 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation (St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office)
Investigators with Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division along with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant of a business on Hwy 182. Upon entry several individuals were located inside the business, including a fourteen year old juvenile, all were detained. The owner of the business, Scott Autherment was found to have suspected Metheamphetamine on his person. Also, located in the business was suspected marijuana, pills identified as Flexeril and Adderall, U.S. currency totalling over $500, two firearms and items used to smoke illegal narcotics. The location of the buiness is near an elementary school which is a Drug Free Zone. One of the other individuals detained was Kelly Franklin and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office. Both Scott Autherment and Kelly Franklin were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
