Prostitution Investigation
The Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division conducted an investigation of prostitution occurring at local hotels. The advertisement for the prostitution was via an online site. From further investigation, the following were arrested:
Monica L. Hebert, 28 years of age, Address- Robicheaux Lane, Franklin, La. was arrested on 01/09/2017 @ 3:39 pm.
Charge: Prostitution
Warrant- Failure to Appear for Simple Battery (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)
Monica Hebert was located in a room at a local hotel on Brashear Ave., after reports of prostitution occurring at the location. Reports indicated that Hebert admitted to performing sexual acts for money. Hebert was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. Hebert also held an active warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court.
Shauni E. Daigle, 23 years of age, Address- Hwy 70 Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 01/09/2017 @ 5:13 pm.
Charge: Prostitution
Possession of Heroin
Possession of Sch II Methamphetamine
Possession of Marijuana 1st offense
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone
Demetria Y. Francis, 38 years of age, Address- Waveland, MS was arrested on 01/09/2016 @ 5:13 pm.
Charge: Prostitution
Possession of Heroin
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Sch II Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone
Shauni Daigle and Demetria Francis were located in a room at a local hotel on Hwy 182, after reports of prostitution occurring at the location. . During the course of the investigation, both Daigle and Francis admitted to performing sexual acts for money. Reports also indicated that detectives located in the room suspected heroin, suspected marijuana and suspected methamphetamine. Also, there were items used to smoke illegal narcotics located. The location of the hotel is within 2000 feet of a church which is considered a drug free zone. Both Daigle and Francis were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
