MCPD Arrest Report 01/11/2017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 01/10/2017:
Shawn Lee, 47 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/10/2017 @ 3:00 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation (2cts)
Warrant- Failure to Appear for Criminal Damage to Property
Shawn Lee was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for active warrants he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Lee was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Hope L. Delgado, 31 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/10/2017 @ 9:40 pm.
Charge: Stop Sign Violation
Driving Under Suspension
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division, observed a vehicle at the intersection of Onstead and North Third St. fail to stop at a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Hope Delgado was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Delgado's driver's license was suspended. Officers also located an item commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics inside of Delgado's purse. Delegado was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
William L. Basham, 60 years of age, Address- Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/10/2016 @ 10:29 am.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Officers responded to the area of First St. and Railroad Ave. in regards to a intoxicated individual lying on the sidewalk. Officers arrived and spoke to the individual, indentified as William Basham. Reports indicate that Basham had an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath and person. Basham was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Aris Granger, 29 years of age, Address- Joseph St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/10/2017 @ 11:34 pm.
Charge: Theft under $750.00
Illegal Carry of Weapons- Burglary Tools
Officers responded to a local business on Youngs Rd. in regards to a subject on the property possibly taking cooper wiring. A description of the subject was given out and officers located the subject in the area. The subject was identified as Aris Granger. Officers did locate copper wiring in Granger's possession and tools commonly used for burglaries. According to reports, Granger did admit to taking the wiring from the property. Granger was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
