MCPD Arrest Report 01/12/2017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 01/11/2017:
Ricky Ledet Jr. 35 years of age, Address- West Side Blvd. Houma, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 7:50 am.
Charge: Possession of Stolen Property over $1500.00
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
Possession of Marijuana
Simple Escape
Warrant-Simple Burglary (Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office)
The Morgan City Police Department received information that an individual at a local hotel on Hwy 182 was in possession of stolen vehicle. Officers arrived and made contact with the individual identified as Ricky Ledet in one of the hotel rooms. According to reports, Ledet admitted to officers that he had stolen a vehicle out of the Schiever, LA area. Officers located the vehicle and ran a computer check, which revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen. The vehicle was searched and a firearm was located inside. Reports indicate that Ledet knew of the firearm in the vehicle. Officers also located suspected marijuana in Ledet's possession. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Ledet held an active warrant for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. After placing Ledet under arrest, he pulled away from the officer and began to flee on foot. Ledet was apprehended a short time later. Ledet was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jeremie M. Paul, 26 years of age, Address- Mallard St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 4:00 pm
Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation
Warrant- Contempt of Court
Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fee
Jeremie Paul was transported from the Iberia Parish Jail to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Paul was booked and incarcerated.
Peter Parish, 66 years of age, Address- Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 4:15 pm.
Charge: Hit and Run
Driving Under Suspension
Officers responded to the area of Seventh and Greenwood St. in regard to a vehicle crash. Information was received that one of the vehicles involved in the crash was fleeing the area. The vehicle was located on Ditch Ave and the driver was identified as Peter Parish. Reports indicated that Parish admitted he fled the scene because he was nervous. A driver's license check revealed that Parish's driver's license was under suspension. Parish was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Brittany Johnson, 26 years of age, Address- Fox Glove St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 4:02 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Simple Battery
Brittany Johnson turned herself in to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant she held. The warrant stems from an incident in October of 2016, which alleges Johnson committed a battery on an individual. Johnson was booked and incarcerated.
Sean P. Patterson Jr., 24 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 7:47 pm.
Charge: Possession of Sch II Percocet
Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone
Carl Singleton, 20 years of age, Address- Garber St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 7:47 pm.
Charge: Improper Lane Usage

Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division, observed a vehicle, several times cross the center line on Marguerite St. near Victor II Blvd area. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Carl Singleton was asked to produce a valid driver's license. While talking the driver, the officer noticed an item used to grinded illegal narcotics on the floor of the vehicle. Reports indicate that Singleton stated the item was from him. The passenger in the vehicle, Sean Patterson was asked to exit the vehicle. Officers located pills in Patterson's possession identified as Percocet. Both Singleton and Patterson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Tyrel A. Whitehead, 19 years of age, Address- Lawrence St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/11/2017 @ 10:16 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines
Warrant- Failure to Pay Probation Fees
Tyrel Whitehead was located on Fourth St. A warrants check was done on Whitehead and it was determined that he held active warrants for the 6th Ward City Court. Whitehead was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Nicholas P. Kapp, 22 years of age, Address- Lake Palourde Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/12/2017 @ 3:00 am.
Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)
Officers located Nicholas Kapp in the area of Federal and Brashear Ave. A warrants check was done on Kapp and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Kapp was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
