MCPD Arrest Report 01/13/2017

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 01/12/2017:

Travis Ruffin, 18 years of age, Address: Bernice St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/12/2017 @ 7:38pm.

Charges:  Warrant - Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute
                  Warrant - Probation Violation

     Travis Ruffin was located by officers on Brashear Avenue near Sixth Street where he was arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police Narcotics Detectives of an incident on January 5, 2017 where Ruffin was alleged to possess marijuana intended for distribution.  Ruffin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Steve Scully, 50 years of age, Address: Main St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/12//2017 @ 9:46pm.

Charges:  Improper Head Lighting
                  Driving Under Suspension

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Sixth Street near Brashear Avenue with improper head lights. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Steven Scully.  A driver license check revealed that Scully had a suspended drivers license according to reports.  Scully was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Bradford G Jones, 38 years of age, Address: Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/13/2017 @ 3:00am.

Charges:  Driving Under Suspension
                  Improper Lane Usage
                  No Vehicle Insurance
                  Expired License Plate

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Hwy 182 near Justa Street traveling out of its proper lane of travel.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Bradford G Jones.  During a traffic investigation, reports indicate it was learned that Jones had a suspended drivers license, the vehicle did not have state required insurance and that the license plate on the vehicle was expired.  Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
