MCPD Arrest Report 02/16/2017

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 02/15/2017.

Quincy J Johnson 02152017
Quincy J Johnson, 23 years of age, Address: Orange St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 8:47am.

Charges:  Simple Burglary
                  Obstruction of Justice
                  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Burglary Tools
                  Warrant - Probation Violation

     Officers responded to the area of Sixth Street near Willard Street in regard to a vehicle burglary. Reports indicate that an off duty Morgan City Police Sergeant had observed a subject known to the sergeant as Quincy J Johnson who appeared to be committing a vehicle burglary. The off duty sergeant directed responding officers to Johnson's location at which time Johnson was located and detained for further investigation. During an investigation, reports indicated that evidence of the alleged vehicle burglary was uncovered by the officers. During a search, officers located tools on Johnson which officers believed Johnson utilized for the burglary. Johnson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where a more thorough search was conducted. During this search, officer located suspected marijuana on Johnson which Johnson attempted to place into mouth to discard the evidence according to reports.  The location of the incident Johnson was arrested was within the area of a drug free zone. A warrants check revealed that Johnson had an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial District Court. Johnson was booked into the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Joseph Saldivar, 23 years of age, Address: Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 1:37pm.

Charges:  Improper Turning
                  Driving Under Suspension
                  No Vehicle Insurance
                  Failure to Change Address on Driver License

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn at the intersection of Redwood Street and Victor II Blvd. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Joseph Saldivar.  During a traffic investigation, reports indicate it was learned that the vehicle did not have state required insurance, Saldivar had a suspended drivers license and failed to change his residential address on the license.  Saldivar was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Djuandranique D Diggs, 26 years of age, Address: Collie St. Franklin, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 2:00pm.

Charge:  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 02/07/2017 for Possession of Marijuana

     Djuandranique D Diggs who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail was booked on an additional warrant obtained by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and remains incarcerated.

Matilda Amos, 23 years of age, Address: Pond Drive Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 4:05pm.

Charges:  Public Intimidation of an Officer
                 Criminal Damage to Property
                  Negligent Injuring

     A correctional officer responded to a cell in the Morgan City Jail in regard to  what sounded like a disturbance. The officer identified Matilda Amos as an inmate involved in the disturbance when the officer attempted to calm Amos. Reports indicate that Amos began yelling at the officer threatening the officer.  Amos then caused damage to a toilet which caused flooding in the cell which later resulted in another inmate being injured according to reports.  Matilda was additionally charged and remains incarcerated.

Garrido A Martinez, 48 years of age, Address: Spruce Street Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 8:56pm.

Charges:  Improper Lighting
                 No Drivers License

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Hwy La. 70 near Victor II Blvd with improper rear lights. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Garrido A Martinez.  A drivers license check revealed that Martinez did not have a valid driver license. Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kane R Thomas, 28 years of age, Address: Chitimache Trail, Charenton, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 10:45pm.

Charges:  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 07/17/2012 for Hit and Run
                  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 07/17/2012 for Possession of an Open Alcoholic                                               Container WIthin a Vehicle       
                  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 07/17/2012 for No Vehicle Insurance

     Kane R Thomas was transported from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Jail to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to several active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Thomas was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Ronald B Jones 02162017
Ronald B Jones, 53 years of age, Address: Arcemont Ln. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/16/2017 for 1:13am.

Charges:  Improper Lane Usage
                  No Drivers License
                  Red Light Violation
                  Driving While Intoxicated (3rd Offense)

          A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red light at the intersection Hwy 182 at Myrtle Street.  As the officer approached,  the vehicle was observed traveling out of its designated lane of travel.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Ronald B Jones. During a traffic stop, reports indicated that Jones did not have a valid driver license and that Jones was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated.  Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for further chemical testing where Jones submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .180 grams percent according to reports. Jones was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Jason R McCraw, 42 years of age, Address: Pecos St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/15/2017 @ 9:27pm .

Charge:  Domestic Abuse Battery Child-Endangerment

     A patrolling officer responded to the Morgan City Police Department to meet with a complainant in regard to a reported domestic abuse child endangerment. The officer spoke with the complainant along with a juvenile male who showed signs of being the victim of a battery along with a female juvenile. The officer was told that the juveniles were at a residence on Pecos Street with Jason R McCraw the reported father of the juveniles. Reports indicate that McCraw was shouting at the juveniles at which time McCraw committed a battery on the male juvenile. The officer was provided a location McCraw could be located at which time the officer along with deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office located McCraw at a local lounge on Hwy 182. During an investigation, reports indicate that evidence of the alleged batter was uncovered by officers. McCraw was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
