MCPD Arrest Report 02/21/2017

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 02/20/2017.

Eric L Curtis, 28 years of age, Address: Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2017 @ 10:23am.

Charges: Warrant - Probation Violation
                 Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws (Drug Free Zone)
                 Appearing in Public Intoxicated

     An officer responded to the area of Seventh Street near Greenwood Street in regard to a call of an intoxicated subject in the area. The officer arrived and located a subject matching the provided description identified as Eric L Curtis. During an investigation, reports indicate that Curtis appeared to be in an intoxicated condition. A warrants check was conducted and it was learned that Curtis had an active arrest warrant held through the 16th Judicial District Court. Curtis was placed under arrest and searched when the officer located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The location of the incident was within the area of a drug free zone in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Curtis was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ywinter L Moore 02202017
Ywinter L Moore, 21 years of age, Address: Wren St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/20/2017 @ 12:15pm.

Charge:  Warrant - Bank Fraud (6 Counts)

     Ywinter L Moore was transported from the Patterson Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted Morgan City Police Detectives of an incident reported on January 17, 2017 of alleged bank fraud totaling over $4,800.00 according to reports. Moore was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

David Guzman, 34 years of age, Address: Norman Doucet Dr. Golden Meadow, La. was arrested on 02/20/2017 @ 11:15pm.

Charges:  Simple Battery
                  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

     An officer responded to a residence on Spruce Street in regard to a complaint of criminal damage to property. The officer arrived and spoke with the complainant who told the officer that David Guzman had damaged two windows of the complainants residence. The officer located Guzman in the area moments. During an investigation, reports indicate that Guzman appeared to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated. Evidence of the alleged damage to property was uncovered by the officer. Guzman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
