MCPD Arrest Report 03/16/2017
The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 03/15/2017:
Ryan P. Payton, 30 years of age, Address-Felterman Ln. Patterson, La. was arrested on 03/15/2017 @ 3:34 pm.
Charge: No Seat Belt
No Insurance
Resisting an Officer
Flight from an Officer
A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Ditch Ave., observed a driver of a vehicle not wearing a seat belt. The officer tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued on to the US 90 bridge into Berwick, La. The officer pursued the vehicle to River Rd. and contact was made with the driver identified as Ryan Payton. According to reports, Payton admitted to not stopping for officers because he had no insurance on his vehicle. Payton was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Latasha L. Thomas, 30 years of age, Address- Orange St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/15/2017 @ 3:45 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines
Officers located Latasha Thomas at her residence on Orange St. A warrants check was done on Thomas and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
David A. Sanchez, 39 years of age, Address- Pines Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/15/2017 @ 5:05 pm.
Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery
Officers responded to the parking lot of a local business on Hwy 182 in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to witnesses on scene, who observed David Sanchez strike a female. Reports indicate that the victim stated that she and Sanchez were having a verbal altercation that later turned physical. Officers were able to locate Sanchez, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Christopher Poole, 48 years of age, Address- Park St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 03/15/2017 @ 6:49 pm.
Charge: Warrant- Theft under $750.00
Warrant- Simple Battery
Christopher Poole was transported from the Patterson Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in February, which alleges that Poole committed a battery on an individual and stole items from the victim’s residence. Poole was booked and incarcerated.
