MCPD Arrest Report 04/11/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 04/10/2017:
John F. Sanford, 48 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/10/2017 @ 12:41 p.m.
Charges: Warrant:F.T.A. for Arraignment on 02/21/2017
John F. Sanford was located at the Terrebonne Parish Detention Center and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court on the original charges of Domestic Battery and Contempt of Court. Sanford was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Shawn Lee, 47 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/10/2017 @ 1:00 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation
Shawn Lee was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Lee was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Gail E. Renthrope, 61 years of age, address: Robin St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/10/2017 @ 6:28 p.m.

Possession of Cocaine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)
Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division responded to the area of Robin St. in regards to a complaint involving narcotics activity. According to reports upon arriving investigators made contact with Gail E. Renthrope who quickly closed the door to the residence. Renthrope was observed throwing something out of the back door of the residence. Renthrope then came out the back door and had a pill bottle and a tin can in her possession. The items were turned over to investigators and located was suspected marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia. The area where this incident took place is within a Drug Free Zone. Renthrope was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Travis Ruffin Jr., 18 years of age, address: Bernice St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/10/2017 @ 6:34 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Possession of a Vicious Dog
Warrant: Allowing Dogs to Roam
Travis Ruffin Jr. was located in the area of Fig St. and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. According to reports the warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in April of 2017 when two pit bulls were located roaming free and allegedly were owned by Ruffin. A warrant was prepared for his arrest. Ruffin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
John Q. Lyons, 51 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 04/11/2017 @ 2:56 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Theft of Utilities
John Q. Lyons was located in the area of US 90 and arrested on an active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in March of 2017. According to reports it alleges that Lyons activated the gas service at the residence that he was residing at in the area of Second St without knowledge of the utilites department. A warrant was prepared for his arrest. Lyons was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
