MCPD Arrest Report 05/12/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 05/11/2017:
Tanisha L. Wilkerson 41 years of age, address: Grace St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/11/2017 @ 3:21 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Contempt of Court
Tanisha L. Wilkerson was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Wilkerson was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Bennie A. Charles, 32 years of age, N. Third St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/10/2017 @ 6:08 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation
Bennie A. Charles was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Charles was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Abel O. Garza, 51 years of age, address: Egle St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/11/2017 @ 10:47 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Patrol officers responded to the area of Egle St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and according to reports several subjects fled on foot. Officers came in contact with some subjects in the area and detected an odor of marijuana. One of the subjects was identified as Abel O. Garza and he was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Garza was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Warrant: Simple Burglary (Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office)
Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office)
Hold for St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office
Patrol officers were investigating a complaint on an unrelated matter to this incident at a local business in the area of LA 182. According to reports while handling that complaint officers detected an odor of marijuana emitting from another location. Officers made contact with a Tristan LeBlanc and she was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. It was also found that LeBlanc held several active arrest warrants through the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office and St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office. LeBlanc was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
