MCPD Arrest Report 05/24/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result, beginning on 05/23/2017:


Patrick D. Guarisco, 53 years of age, Address- Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/23/2017 @ 7:58 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Synthetic Marijuana
                Possession of Marijuana
                Violation of Uniform CDS Law- Drug-Free Zone
     Officers responded to a residence on Front St. in regards to a disturbance. Upon arriving, reports indicate that a witness stated to officers that Patrick Guarisco was under the influence of some type of narcotic and was causing a disturbance. Officers made contact with Guarisco inside the home. Guarisco gave officers consent to search his person and officers located suspected synthetic marijuana and marijuana. Guarisco was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. Guarisco’s residence is within 2000 ft. of an elementary school, which is a drug-free zone.

Kayla M. Aucoin, 23 years of age, Address- Cross Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/23/2017 @ 2:20 pm.

Charge:  Improper Lane Usage
                Possession of Schedule II Drug – Methamphetamine
                Illegal Use of CDS in Presence of Persons Under 17
                Warrant- Failure to Comply with the Conditions of Drug Court (St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office)

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Roderick St., observed a vehicle weaving in the left lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Kayla Aucoin. The officer also observed two small children inside of the vehicle. Aucoin was asked to produce a valid driver’s license, also a local warrant check was done. It was determined that Aucoin held active warrants for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court.  The officer also located suspected methamphetamine on Aucoin’s person. Aucoin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

 

Eric T. Gaskins, 36 years of age, Address- Friendship Ally Amelia, La. was arrested on 0523/2017 @ 8:24 pm.

Charge:  No Driver’s License
                No Headlights
                Warrant-Failure to Pay Probation Fees

    An officer in the area of Hwy 182 near Eleventh St., observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Eric Gaskins. Gaskins was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Gaskins did not have valid driver’s license. Gaskins also held an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Gaskins was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Aaron M. Dinger, 24 years of age, Address- Jupiter St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/23/2017 @ 9:00 pm.

Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines (2cts)

   Aaron Dinger was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for outstanding warrants held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Dinger was booked and incarcerated.


Tirrel J. Jones, 21 years of age, Address-Joey St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/23/2017 @ 11:37 pm.

Charge:  Tail Lights Required
                 Driving Under Suspension

   An officer in the area of Hwy 182 near Cottonwood St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Tirrel Jones. Jones was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Jones’ driver’s license was under suspension. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Michael S. Cairns, Address- Hwy 662 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/23/2017 @ 10:30 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Synthetic Marijuana
                Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                Violation of Uniform CDS Law- Drug-Free Zone

   The Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop on Utah St. Michael Cairns was a passenger in the vehicle. Cairns gave officers consent to search his person and officers located suspected synthetic marijuana and items used smoke illegal narcotics. The area of the traffic stop was within 2000 ft. of an elementary school which is a drug-free zone.  Cairns was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
