MCPD Arrest Report 06/06/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result, beginning on 06/05/2017:

Wesley Bass 06062017
Wesley R. Bass, 20 years of age, address: River Road Berwick, La., arrested on 06/05/2017 @ 1:10 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Stolen Items over $1,500.00

Wesley R. Bass was located and arrested at the Morgan City Jail on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division in regards to a stolen vehicle from the area of Sixth St. During the course of the investigation, evidence was obtained linking Wesley R. Bass to the crime. A warrant was obtained for his arrest. Bass was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. The investigation is ongoing.

Margaret Miskelley, 26 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/05/2017 @ 3:24 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 05/30/2017 (2 counts)

Margaret Miskelley was located and arrested in the area of Leona St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Miskelley was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Keshawn A. Gray, 20 years of age, address: Tiffany St. Patterson, La., arrested on 06/05/2017 @ 5:30 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                  Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Patrol officers responded to the area of US 90 in regards to a vehicle crash that had occurred. Officers arrived and according to reports evidence was obtained placing Keshawn A. Gray as the operator of the vehicle that operated his vehicle in a careless manner which resulted in the crash. Gray’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Gray was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Louis D. Topham, 41 years of age, address: Aucoin St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/05/2017 @ 7:55 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                  Warrant: Probation Violation

Marcus S. Hatch, 42 years of age, address: Fourth St. Berwick, La., arrested on 06/05/2017 @ 7:55 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Restitution on 08/18/2015

Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of Chester Bowles in which Louis D. Topham and Marcus S. Hatch were passengers in. During the investigation, it was learned that Topham and Hatch both held active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Topham was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Topham and Hatch were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Harrell Brooks Jr., 53 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/06/2017 @ 2:09 a.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Hwy 182 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and according to reports, Harrell Brooks Jr. was identified as a suspect who allegedly struck the victim during an argument. Brooks Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Deangela E. Celestine, 21 years of age, address: Duson, La., arrested on 06/06/2017 @ 2:22 a.m.

Laquette Porter 06062017
Laquette M. Porter, 29 years of age, address: Van Buren Dr. Lafayette, La., arrested on 06/06/2017 @ 2:22 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of SCH II CDS (Hydrocodone)
                  Possession of SCH II CDS (Adderall)
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Illegal use of CDS in the presence of Juveniles

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner in the area of US 90. A stop was initiated and Deangela E. Celestine was identified as the operator of the vehicle. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Celestine’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. Laquette M. Porter was identified as a passenger and according to reports was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana, Hydrocodone, Adderall, and drug paraphernalia. Porter did not hold a valid prescription for the suspected Hydrocodone and Adderrall. There was also an unrestrained child in the vehicle. Celestine and Porter was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
