MCPD Arrest Report 06/13/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 51 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result, beginning on 06/12/2017:
Jose J. Cruz-Nicolas, 30 years of age, address: Cottonwood St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/12/2017 @ 10:42 a.m.
Charges: Driving under Suspension
Improper Restraint
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Victor II Blvd. and the driver was not properly restrained. A stop was initiated and Jose J. Cruz-Nicolas was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Cruz-Nicolas Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Cruz-Nicolas was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Terrence M. Ballet Jr., 23 years of age, address: Bud St. Franklin, La., arrested on 06/12/2017 @ 10:57 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Obstruction of Justice
Driving under Suspension
Improper Lighting
Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Terrence M. Ballet Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports when officers made contact with Ballet they detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. They also observed that Ballet had a green leafy substance in his mouth and was attempting to swallow it. Ballet succeeded but reports indicate that other suspected marijuana along with drug paraphernalia was located. Ballet admitted to officers that he did ingest marijuana. Ballet’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Ballet had been arrested for marijuana on two previous occasions. Ballet was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Nicholas D. Wiggins, 27 years of age, address: Tupelo St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/12/2017 @ 11:45 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 03/28/2017
Nicholas D. Wiggins was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Wiggins was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
