MCPD Arrest Report 06/20/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result, beginning on 06/19/2017:
Shannon N. Brown, 34 years of age, address: Birch St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/19/2017 @ 9:58 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Theft under $750 (3 counts)
Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 11/18/2014 (2 counts)
Shannon N. Brown was located and arrested at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Facility on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police and 6th Ward Morgan City Court. The warrant from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation conducted by detectives in December of 2014 in regard to several thefts at a local business in the area of LA 182. Shannon N. Brown was developed as a suspect and linked to the crime. Warrants were prepared for Brown’s arrest. Brown was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Todd E. Aucoin, 48 years of age, address: Hilda St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/19/2017 @ 11:55 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
Warrant: Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
Todd E. Aucoin was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in which suspected Methamphetamine was located during a traffic stop in the area of Federal Ave that was linked to Aucoin. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Aucoin’s arrest. Aucoin was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Juan R. Torres Jr., 28 years of age, address: Stacy St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/19/2017 @ 4:35 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Simple Criminal Damage to Property
Juan R. Torres Jr. was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in April of 2017 in regards to damaged property at a local business in the area of Brasaher Ave. According to reports Juan R. Torres Jr. was linked to that crime. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Torres arrest. Torres was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Deontay D. O. Jones, 20 years of age, address: Taft St. Patterson, La., arrested on 06/19/2017 @ 8:26 p.m.
Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
Window Tint Violation
Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of Wren St. being operated with window tint darker than allowed by Louisiana Law. A stop was initiated and Deontay D.O. Jones was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Jones was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The area where the incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Jones was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Prism Toups, 20 years of age, address: Shell Beach Rd. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 06/20/2017 @ 1:14 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Theft under $750
Prism Toups was located and arrested in the area of US 90 on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in March of 2017 in regards to a theft. According to reports, Prism Toups was developed as a suspect and linked to the crime. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Toups’ arrest. Toups was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
