MCPD Arrest Report 06/21/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 35 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result, beginning on 06/20/2017:

Linda S. Campbell, 55 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/20/2017 @ 6:49 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Contempt of Court on 08/09/2002 (Rapides Parish S.O.)
                  Warrant: Issuing Worthless Checks (Rapides Parish S.O.)
                  Warrant: Contempt of Court on 01/29/2016 (Rapides Parish S.O.)
                  Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 05/06/2015 (Rapides Parish S.O.)

Linda S. Campbell was located and arrested in the area of Second Street on active arrest warrants held by the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. Campbell was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Kimber Thompson 06212017
Kimber N. Thompson, 29 years of age, address: Pacific St. Berwick, La., arrested on 06/20/2017 @ 8:41 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                  Possession of SCH II CDS (Vyvanse)
                  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of Federal Ave. A stop was initiated and Kimber N. Thompson was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Thompson displayed signs of nervousness. An officer with the Morgan City Police Department K-9 Division assisted in the investigation. K-9 Lady was deployed on the vehicle and indicated to the presence of narcotic odor. A search of the vehicle produced suspected Methamphetamine, suspected Vyvanse, suspected Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Reports indicated that Thompson acknowledged that she knew about the items located. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
