MCPD Arrest Report 07/10/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 97 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 07/07/2017:

Shawn McCauley 07072017
Shawn E. McCauley, 40 years of age, address: Francis Ln. Patterson, La., arrested on 07/07/2017 @ 9:21 a.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                 Possession of Marijuana
                 Violation of Uniform CDS La (Drug-Free Zone)
                 Resisting an Officer
                 Driving under Suspension
                 Switched License Plate
                 No Insurance
                 Improper Equipment
                 Warrant: Telephone Harassment

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of Sixth St. being operated with improper equipment. A stop was initiated and Shawn E. McCauley was identified as the operator of the vehicle. McCauley’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension the license plate on the vehicle was registered to another, and the vehicle McCauley was operating was found to be without insurance as required by Louisiana Law. Reports indicate, that McCauley was acting in a suspicious manner. McCauley began to resist officers and after a short struggle, McCauley was taken into custody. He was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and suspected Marijuana. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in which McCauley continuously contact the alleged victim numerous times via telephone after being advised not to. Warrants were prepared for McCauley’s arrest. McCauley was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Devonte S. Myles, 23 years of age, address: Robin St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/07/2017 @ 12:17 a.m.

Charges: No Driver’s License
                 No Insurance

The Morgan City Bike Patrol observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Wren St. by Devonte Myles. Myles was known to the officer and the officer had knowledge that Myles did not possess a valid driver’s license from prior dealings. A stop was initiated. The vehicle Myles was operating was found no to have valid insurance as required by Louisiana Law. Myles was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Larry Barnett, 38 years of age, address: 6th St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/07/2017 @ 4:04 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 No Insurance
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation on 02/09/2017

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated by Larry Barnett in the area of US 90. Barnett was known to the officer and the officer had knowledge that Barnett’s Louisiana Driver’s License was suspended. A stop was initiated and it was confirmed that Barnett’s driver’s license was in fact under suspension. The vehicle Barnett was operating did not have valid insurance as required by Louisiana Law. It was also found that Barnett held an active warrant for his arrest through the 16th Judicial Court. Barnett was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Heather D. LaCoste, 33 years of age, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/07/2017 @ 5:48 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 12/08/2016 (3 Counts)

Heather D. LaCoste was located and arrested in the area of LA 70 on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. LaCoste was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Zacolby Granger, 25 years of age, address: Grace St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/07/2017
11:50 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 04/25/2017 (2 Counts)

Zacolby Granger was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Granger was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Crystal R. Swan, 25 years of age, address: Birch St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 07/08/2017 @ 12:12 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment (Terrebonne Parish)

Crystal R. Swan was located and arrested in the area of Birch St. on active arrest warrants for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Department. Swan was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Robert W. Levitt Jr., 53 years of age, address: Portier Ct. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2017 @ 4:43 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Hit & Run
                 Warrant: Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
                 Warrant: Driving under Suspension

Robert W. Levitt Jr. was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in May of 2017 when a hit & run crash occurred on LA 70. Evidence was uncovered linking Robert W. Levitt Jr. to the crash. Warrants were prepared for Levitt’s arrest. Levitt was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Leronika Hawkins 07082017

Leronika S. Hawkins, 21 years of age, address: Arizona St. Morgan City, La., 07/08/2017 @ 5:10 a.m.

Charges: Aggravated Second Degree Battery
                 Obstruction of Justice

Angel A. Hawkins, 19 years of age, address: Arizona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2017 @ 5:10 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Ti’ryce Oliney, 20 years of age, address: Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2017 @ 5:10 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Patrol officers responded to the area of Park Rd. in regards to an altercation that had taken place. Officers arrived and reports indicate that the victim was located and found to be injured with several lacerations from a weapon. The investigation continued and Leronika S. Hawkins, Angel Hawkins, and Ti’ryce Oliney were located and identified as suspects. The Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division responded to assist and uncovered evidence linking the trio to the crime. During the altercation, Leronika Hawkins was identified as cutting the alleged victim and discarded of said weapon to avoid detection. Leronika Hawkins, Angel Hawkins, and Ti’Ryce Oliney were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Corey Adams, 38 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2017 @ 8:48 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Criminal Damage to Property ($500 to $5000)

Corey Adams was located and arrested in the area of David Dr. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in April of 2017 in which Adams allegedly damaged several items of property belonging to the victim valued at over $2,000. Warrants were prepared for Adams’ arrest. Adams was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jonathan E. Tuttle, 46 years of age, address: Sandra Ct. Morgan City, La., arrested 07/08/2017 @ 10:44 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Disregard of Traffic Controls
                 Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Greenwood St. in the opposite lane of travel. The vehicle was also observed failing to stop at a stop sign. A stop was initiated and Jonathan E. Tuttle was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Reports indicate that Tuttle was found to be intoxicated. Tuttle performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Tuttle was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Once at the Morgan City Jail Tuttle submitted to Chemical Test in which he registered .152g% Blood Alcohol Content. Tuttle was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Frank Gamble Jr., 62 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/08/2017 @ 10:44 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of 6th St. in the center of the both lanes of travel. A stop was initiated and reports indicate that Frank Gamble Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Gamble was found to be in an intoxicated state. Gamble performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Gamble was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Once at the Morgan City Jail Gamble submitted to Chemical Test which registered .083g% Blood Alcohol Content. Gamble was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Christopher P. Waguespack, 41 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/09/2017 @ 8:40 p.m.

Charges: Sexual Battery
                 Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Simple Battery

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of LA 182 in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers learned that Christopher P. Waguespack went to the residence of the alleged victim in an intoxicated state. Waguespack refused the leave and allegedly committed a battery and a sexual battery on the victim. Waguespack was located where he as arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jordon R. Bourque, 29 years of age, address: Liberty Ave. Lafayette, La., arrested on 07/09/2017 @ 10:05 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Expired License Plate
                 No Insurance

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 and the registration sticker was removed off of the license plate. A stop was initiated and Jordon R. Bourque was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, it was found that Bourque’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension, the vehicle did not possess valid insurance as required by Louisiana Law, and the registration was expired. Bourque was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Bourque was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
