MCPD Arrest Report 09/15/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/14/2017:

Desmond J. Richard, 36 years of age, address: Mike Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 3:30 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 07/25/2017 (3 Counts)
                 Warrant: Probation Violation

Desmond J. Richard was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Richard was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Rolando Villalobos, 77 years of age, address: South Verett St. Amelia, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 6:57 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Michelle R. Ashley, 48 years of age, address: South Verett St. Amelia, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 6:57 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Improper Turning

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and Michelle R. Ashley was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Rolando Villalobos was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Villalobos and Ashley were found to be in possession of suspected synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Villalobos and Ashley were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Jarvis D.  Granger 09152017

Jarvis D. Granger, 31 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 8:15 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS W/I/T/D (Synthetic Marijuana)
                 Possession of Marijuana W/I/T/D
                 Possession of SCH II CDS W/I/T/D (Cocaine)
                 Possession of SCH II CDS W/I/T/D (Methamphetamine)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Obstruction of Justice

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a local Motel in the area of LA 182. Jarvis D. Granger was developed as a suspect and according to reports; investigators located suspected Synthetic Marijuana, Marijuana, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Drug Paraphernalia. Granger attempted to destroy evidence during the investigation. Evidence was uncovered linking Granger to the crime and that the illicit drugs were destined to be sold. Granger was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Luis Garcia, 33 years of age, address: Willow St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 11:34 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense 
                 No Driver’s License
                 No Insurance
                 Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Bush St. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Luis Garcia was identified as the operator of the vehicle. The vehicle that Garcia was operating was found not to possess valid insurance as required by Louisiana Law and Garcia did not possess a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Garcia was found to be in an intoxicated state. Garcia performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Evidence was uncovered that Garcia may be under the influence of prescription medication. Garcia was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Garcia submitted to Chemical Test resulting in .000g% blood alcohol content. Garcia refused to submit to blood analysis, therefore, a search warrant was obtained. Chemical testing of the sample is pending. Garcia was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Lantrell Ayers, 26 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 9:06 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Resisting an Officer
                 Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Lantrell Ayers was later identified. According to reports, Ayers provided officers with a false name. Ayres Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Ayers was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
