Shaun Sikes , 33 YOA, Hemlock St Morgan City,LA was arrested on 12-27-2016 @ 5:55 pm

 
Charges: Warrant-City Court of Morgan City -Domestic Abuse Battery

                 Warrant-City Court of Morgan City-False Imprisonment

On December 27,  2016 Mr. Sikes was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on warrants charging him with Domestic Abuse Battery and False Imprisonment.  Mr. Sikes was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.


Douglas Mark, 45 YOA , Utah St. Berwick,LA was arrested on 12-27-2016@7:02 pm

Charge: Warrant-FTA for 27th JDC(St. Landry Parish)

On December 27, 2016 Officers located Mr. Marks during an investigation into an intoxicated subject walking on Brashear Ave near Federal Ave.  Upon contact with Mr. Marks a warrants check was done and Mr. Marks was found to be wanted by the 27th JDC for Failure to Appear for Court.  Mr. Marks was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail for booking.

 

David Vargas, 37 YOA, Bowman St. Morgan  City,La was arrested on 12-27-2016 @ 9:41 pm

                 Disturbing the Peace

On December 27, 2016 Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle burglary.  While en route to the location officers learned that the suspect had been followed to a residence on Bowman St.  Officers arrived on Bowman St and located Mr. Vargas who during the investigation  admitting to taking items from the vehicle of a friend.  Vargas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail for booking.  During this time officers were called back to the Bowman St. residence due to a subject damaging Vargas' residence.  Upon arrival officers located Gary Davis at the residence, Davis was the subject who followed Vargas back to the residence.  Officers found that Davis had in fact damaged Vargas' residence at which time he was placed under arrest.  During the investigation several of the residence in that area were outside during which time Davis kept yelling profanities and had to be told several times to use profanity in public.

 Calvin Singeton,   Address: Morgan City, LA was arrested on 12/23/2016 @ 11:52 am.

Charges:  Resisting and Officer
                 Possession of Schedule II CDS
                 Possession of Schedule I CDS
                 Possession of  Drug Parahernalia
                 Violation of Uniform CDS law-Drug Fre
                 Obstruction of Justice-Tampering with evidence
                 Misrepresentation during booking

 

On December 23, 2016 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Federal Ave. and Arenz St.  During the traffic stop officers spoke with Singleton who during the stop identified himself as someone else.  While speaking with Singleton officers observed him to be very nervous to the point of not being able to retrieve ID from his wallet. During the investigation officers noticed that Singleton attempted to throw something and was found to be chewing what officers believed to be suspected marijuana. As officers attempted to stop Singleton from chewing the suspected marijuana Singleton began to resist, officers were able to gain control of him and place him under arrest.   After a search of the vehicle officers located suspected methamphetamine.  Singleton was then transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.  Once at MCPD officers learned Singleton's  true identity as he continued to tell officers he was someone else. 

 

 

Jerry Boyer, 72 YOA, Morgan City,LA was arrested on December 23, 2016@ 3:34 pm

 

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

 

    On December 23, 2016 Officers were called to the area of Fifth St. near Brashear Ave due to a subject stumbling in the roadway.  Officers located and identified the subject as Jerry Boyer.  Boyer was found to be intoxicated and could hardly stand without assistance.  Boyer was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for incarceration. 

 

Megan Gaudet, 25 YOA, Parro Ln, Berwick,La was arrested on December 23, 2016 @5:54 pm.

 

Charges: Warrant-16JDC FTA for Simple Battery

                   Warrant-Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle
                   Warrant-No Drivers license

Megan Gaudet was transported from the Assumption Parish Jail to the Morgan City Police Department and booked on warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department.

 

Carley Griffin, 32 YOA, Beau Ln, Morgan City,LA was arrested on December 23, 2016 @10:09 pm

 

Charges: Speeding

                 Driving while intoxicated 1st Off.

                 Threatening a public official 3cts

 

On December 23, 2016 a patrolling officers observed a vehicle which he believed to be speeding.  The officer then activated his radar unit and found the vehicle to be traveling at 57 mph in a 45 mph zone.  The officer stopped the vehicle near Hwy 182 and Roderick St.  Upon coming into contact with the driver, identified as Carley Giffin whom officer suspected that may be intoxicated and conducted a field sobriety test, which the Griffin failed.   Griffin was then placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Once at the Morgan City Police Department during the chemical test for intoxication Griffin threaten officers at MCPD.

 

 

Joseph Engleton, 52 YOA, Railroad Ave, Morgan City,LA was arrested on December 25, 2016 @ 4:38 pm

Charge: Second Degree Battery

 

On December 25, 2016 officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Terrebonne St.  Upon arrival officers located the victim who had a cut to her head.  While speaking with victim Officers learned that she was struck in the head by Joseph Engleton.  After striking her Engleton left on a bike.  A short time later Engleton was located and officers spoke with him.  Engleton admitted that he hit the victim with a closed fist after which he was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 12/21/2016:

Cassie Vinning, 27 years of age, Address- Faith St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/21/2016 @ 3:53 pm.

Charge: Warrant - Theft under $750.00
                 Warrant-Forgery

  Cassie Vinning was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants she held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants stem from an incident in September, where it is alleged that Vinning had stolen items from a residence and had forged several checks. Vinning was booked and incarcerated.

Scott M. Henry, 35 years of age, Address- Teche Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/21/2016 @ 4:31 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Legend Drug
                No Turn Signal
                Possession of Schedule IV CDS Tramadol Hydrocloride

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Grizzaffi St., observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal, while turning onto Grizzaffi St. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Scott Henry was asked to produce a valid driver's license. During the course of the investigation, Henry gave the officer consent to search his vehicle. The officer located several pills identified as Tramadol Hydrocloride and Clonazepam. Henry did not have a prescription for any of  the medication. Henry was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Denver Chapman, 24 years of age, Address- Village Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/22/2016 @ 4:25 am.

Charge:  Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
                Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drugs
                Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone

  Officers responded to a residence on Bowman St. regarding an individual knocking on the door. When officers arrived, they observed an individual fleeing from the residence on foot. The individual identified as Denver Chapman was apprehended, a short time later. Officers located on Chapman several pieces of suspected crack cocaine in a cellophane bag and a large amount of U.S. Currency totaling over $1000.00.  The area that Chapman was located was within 2000 ft of a church which is a drug free zone. Chapman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Christopher Waguespack, 40 YOA, Hwy 182 Morgan City,LA was arrested on December 26, 2016 @6:38 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace by Offensive Language

Officers were called to remove a subject from a business on Marguerite St.  During the investigation officers removed Christopher Waguespack from the business and brought him to a Hwy 182 apartment.  Once at the apartment Waguespack began to use profanity while outside the apartment.  Waguespack was told several times not to use profanity.  Waguespack continued to use profanity outside the apartment, while other residence and children were outside.  Waguespack was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Christopher Fryar, 33 YOA, Sixth St. Morgan City,LA was arrested on December 27, 2016 @ 1:19 am.

Charges: Warrant- 3cts Failure to Appear for 16JDC Drug Court  

Officers patrolling the area of Hwy 182 and Seventh St. stopped a vehicle after a minor traffic violation.  Mr. Fryar who was a passenger in the vehicle was found to be wanted by the 16 JDC for Failure to Appear for Drug court.  Mr. Fryar was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

The following person was arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 12/22/2016:

Tara Collins, 33 years of age, Address- Live Oak  St. Baldwin, La.  was arrested on 12/22/2016 @ 8:44 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Parole Violation

   Officers located Tara Collins at a local business on Hwy 182. A warrants check was done and it was determined that Collins held an active warrant for the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole. Collins was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 12/20/2016:

Justin C. Lovell, 23 years of age, Address- Patton St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/20/2016 @ 8:48 am.

Charge:  Warrant- Interference with Child Custody

   Justin Lovell was transported from the St. Charles Parish Correctional Facility to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. Lovell was booked and incarcerated.

Donald Byrd, 47 years of age, Address- Freret St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/20/2016 @ 5:04 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Second Degree Battery

   Donald Byrd was arrested at his residence for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident on December 17th, in which it is alleged that Byrd committed a battery on an individual severe enough to required medical treatment. Byrd was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
