Brittany N Burbante, 26 years of age, Address: Russo St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 10/18/2016 @ 8:09am.

Charge: Warrant - Failure to Appear for Hearing of Criminal Neglect of Family

Brittany N Burbante was located by officers on Ellzey Street where she was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial District Court. Burbante was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Christopher Sylvester, 20 years of age, Address: Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/18/2016 @ 11:45am.

Charge: Purse Snatching

Officers responded to the area of Pine Street and Sixth Street in regard to a report of a fight between two subjects. While responding, the officers were told the two subjects involved had broke up and left the area. A description was provided when officers located both subects in the area moments later one on Pine Street identified as Christopher Sylvester and the other on Terrebonne Street later identified as the victim of a purse snatching. The officers were told that by the victim that while in the area of Egle Street near Federal Avenue, Christopher Sylvester snatched the victims wallet from the victims hand and fled the area. The victim attempted to chase Sylvester and later located Sylvester in the area of Pine Street where he attempted to get the wallet back and a struggle ensued. During an investigation, reports indicate that the officers uncovered evidence supporting the alleged purse snatching. Sylvester was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Daniel M Elliott, 17 years of age, Address: Chatsworth Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/28/2016 @ 11:49am.

Charges: Entry or Remaining in Places After Being Forbidden

Officers responded to a local school on Hickory Street in regard to a subject entering the property that had previously been banned. Responding officers were told that the subject later identified as Daniel M Elliott had left the property on foot. As officers arrived, reports indicate that Elliott attempted to flee the area but was unsuccessful and was detained by officers. Elliott was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kristy A Jones, 39 years of age, Address: Park Place Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 10/18/2016 @ 2:14pm.

Charge: Warrant - Theft

Kirsty A Jones turned herself in to Morgan City Police in regard to an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted Morgan City Police Detectives of an alleged theft reported on October 13, 2016. Jones was placed under arrest and booked into the Morgan City Jail where she was incacerated.

Devante Frank, 24 years of age, Address: Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/18/2016 @ 3:25pm.

An officer responded to a residence on Ditch Avenue in regard to a reported theft of a vehicle. The officer arrived and spoke with the complainant who showed signs of a battery. The complainant told the officer that Abraham Rivera went into her residence and during an argument committed a battery on the victim. Rivera then left the residence taking the complainants vehicle and leaving the area. A description was provided to patrolling officers when officers located a vehicle matching the description in the area of Hwy 182 and Ditch Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Abraham Rivera. During the course of the stop, reports indicate that the officers observed an open container of an alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle and learned that Rivera did not have a valid drivers license. Rivera was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Hwy 182 near Roderick Street traveling outside of its designated lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Lisa D Caruso. During a traffic investigation, reports indicate that the vehicle did not have state required insurance. Caruso was also suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated according to reports. Caruso was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for further chemical testing where Caruso submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .152 grams percent. Caruso was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Attempted Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Insitution

Officers located a package inside of an air vent in a visitaion room at the Morgan City Police Department Jail. The package was inventoried when officers located suspected suboxone and cigarettes. Reports indicated that Denise M Aucoin had just visted Michael W Martin who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail in that same vistitation room moments earlier. Aucoin was observed by correctional officers getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. A description of the vehicle was provided to patrolling officers when the vehicle was located on Hwy 70 traveling out of its designated lane. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Denise W Aucoin. During an investigation, reports indicate that Aucoin told officers that she had been communicating with Martin who had instructed her to leave the package containing the suspected suboxone and cigarettes in the air vent during visitation in an attempt to get the package inside the jail. A search was conducted when officers located more suspected supboxone on Martin. The location of the incident was withing the area of a drug free zone in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Aucoin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. Michael W Martin was additionally charged and booked.

Jeric J Bias, 40 years of age, Address: Arkansas St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/15/2016 @ 10:21pm.

Charge: Simple Criminal Damage to Property

Officers responded to General Hodges Street in regard to reports of a subject beating on several doors in the area. A description was provided when responding officers located Jeric J Bias who matched the description in the area. During an investgation, reports indicate it was learned that Bias went to one of the houses banging on the door causing damage to the door. Evidence of the damaged door was observed by the officers and Bias identified by the victims. Bias was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Elm Street at Marguerite Street. The vehicle then turned onto Ninth Street where it was observed traveling out of its lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Joshua A Falgout. During a traffic investigation, reports indicated that Falgout's behavior aroused the officer's suspicions that Falgout was invovled in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted when officers located suspected marijuana and methamphetamine. Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives continued the investigation which led investigators to a Sycamore Street residence which was believed to be where Falgout resided. A search warrant for the residence was obtained and executed when investigators located more suspected marijuana which was believed to be packaged for distribution. Reports indicate that investigators also located drug paraphernalia, suspected indomethacin and a firearm. The location of the incident was within the area of a drug free zone in violation of controlled dangerous substance laws. Falgout was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant - Possession of Marijuana (Third Offense)

Anthony J Harris was located by officers at an address on Hwy 70 where he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an investigaiton conducted by Morgan City Police of an incident on August 11, 2016 where Harris was alleged to possess synthetic marijuana. Harris was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ysonde J Williams who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail was booked on additional arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department . Arrest warrants were obtained on Williams by Morgan City Police Department Detectives from an investigation conducted of a reported incident on October 13, 2016 of alleged theft and forgery. Williams was booked on the additional warrants and remains incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Hwy 182 near Roderick Street with improper tail lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Eddie L Brown IV. A drivers license check revealed that Brown IV had a suspended drivers license. Brown IV was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers responded to an address on Brashear Avenue in regard to a reported disturbance. The officers arrived when a vehicle was observed leaving driven by one of the subjects invovled in the alleged disturbance. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Jody R Cubbage. Cubbage's behavior aroused officer's suspicions that Cubbage may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search was conducted when the officer located suspected cocaine on Cubbage's person and an open container of alchohol inside the vehicle according to reports. Cubbage was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Susette Anslum, 41 years of age, Address: Two Sisters Ct. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 10/13/2016 @ 6:41pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

An officer responded to a residence on Second Street in regard to a report of a subject causing a disturbance. The officer arrived and was told by the complainant that Susette Anslum was at the residence cursing and causing a disturbance. Anslum, who had left prior to the officer's arrival was located in the area moments later. During an investigation, the officer uncovered evidence of the alleged disturbance. Anslum was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 10/22/2016.

Markeisha Hamilton, 22 years of age, Address: Gum St. Franklin, La. was arrested on 10/11/2016.

Charge: Simple Battery (2 Counts)

Markeisha Hamilton who was currently incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail was booked on additional charges of two counts of simple battery. A correctional officer heard a disturbance in one of the cells and observed two female inmates involved in an argument one being Markeisha Hamilton. Reports indicate that the correctional officer observed Hamilton committing a battery on two of the inmates. Hamilton was booked on additional charges of simple battery.

Billie Driskell, 40 years of age, Address: Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/11/2016 @ 9:38pm.

Charge: Warrant - Contempt of Court

Billie Driskell was located by officers at an address on Victor II Blvd. where she was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Driskell was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

James R A Albert, 47 years of age, Address: Watson St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/11/2016 @ 10:40pm.

Charge: Simple Battery

Officers responded to a local lounge on Hwy 182 in regard to a reported fight. The officers arrived when they located James R A Albert who was being detained by several witnesses to the incident. The officers spoke with a subject later identified as the victim of a battery along with several witnesses to the incident. The officers were told that James R A Albert was inisde the lounge making rude comments to a subject which resulted in an argument. During the argument, reports indicate that Albert allegedly committed a battery on the victim when Albert was detained by patrons inside the lounge and police notified. Albert who appeared to be intoxicated was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
