The following person was arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 08/17/2016. 

Chad A Toups, 41 years of age, Address: Oregon St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 08/17/2016 @ 11:32am. 

Charge:  
Monetary Instrument Abuse

     Chad A Toups turned himself in at the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police Detectives of an incident reported on June 27, 2016 at a Hwy 182 business of alleged monetary instrument abuse. Toups was booked into the Morgan City Jail and later released on a $2,500.00 bond.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 08/16/2016

Bobby L Anderson, 29 years of age, Address: Buchanan Rd. Texarkana, Tx. was arrested on 08/16/2016 @ 6:16am. 

Charges:  
Driving While Intoxicated 
                  Red Light Violation

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to stop for a red traffic signal at the intersection of La. Hwy 70 @ Victor II Blvd. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Bobby L Anderson. During a traffic investigation, reports indicate that Anderson was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated. Anderson was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for futher chemical testing where Anderson submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .119 grams percent. Anderson was arrested, booked and incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail. 

Kristie Williams, 18 years of age, Address: New Orleans, La. was arrested on 08/16/2016 @ 11:00pm

Dearra Armington, 22 years of age, Address: Cypress, Tx. was arrested on 08/16/2016 @ 11:00pm.

Charges:  Possession With Intent to Distribute MDMA (ecstacy)

                  Possession of a Firearm With Obliterated Serial Number
                  Illegal Carrying of Weapons While in Possession of a CDS

Jamarius Palmer, 25 years of age, Address: Houston, Tx. was arrested on 08/16/2016 @ 11:00pm. 

Charges:  Possession With Intent to Distribute MDMA (ecstacy)
                  Possession With the Intent to Distribute Marijuana
                  Possession of a Firearm With Obliterated Serial Number
                  Illegal Carrying of Weapons While in Possession of a CDS

     Officers resonded to Railroad Avenue @ Third Street in regard to a call of a passenger train stopped and in need of police assistance. The officers arrived when they were told by train employees that the train had stopped in Morgan City for assistance involving a theft aboard the train. Officers boarded the train to assist when they were approached by a train employee who told officers that a large amount of illegal narcotics was just found in a restroom. The officers searched the restroom when they located a large amount of suspected MDMA, marijuana and a handgun with obliterated serial numbers. Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives responded and conducted an investigation. During the investigation, reports indicate that investigators identified four suspects related to the suspected contriband identified as Kriste Williams, Dearra Armington, Jamarius Palmer and a male juvenile 16 years of age.  During a search, Williams was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Investigators deployed a narcotics canine dog in an effort to secure the train.  As a result, additional suspected marijuana was located in a bag belonging to Williams.  During the investigation,  the four suspects, who were traveling from Houston area to the New Orleans, La.were implicated and subsequently placed under arrest.  The juvenile was housed until such time as he/she could be transferred to New Orleans authorities.  The investigation is continuing.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 08/15/2016.

Lorelyn M Gotcher, 30 years of age, Address: Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 9:01am. 

Charge:  
Theft of Goods

     An officer responded to a local drug store on Victor II Blvd. in regard to a shoplifter. The officer arrived and spoke with store employees who gave a description of a female who was suspected of shoplifting from the store. Officers located a female in the area identified as Lorelyn M Gotcher who matched the descroption provided. During an investigation, reports indicate officers located the items on Gotcher that were stolen from the store valued at $28.40. Gotcher was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Ronald Clark, 48 years of age, Address: Duke St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 10:36am.

Charges:  Armed Robbery
                  Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon
                  Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
                  Resisting an Officer
                  Obstruction of Justice

     Officers responded to a residence on Railroad Avenue in regard to a subject being armed with a gun. Officers arrived when they located Ronald Clark who matched the description provided. As officers approached, Clark began to flee from officers and foot chase ensued. Clark contiunued running from officers for several city blocks when Clark was believed to have discarded a hand gun under a residence. Clark was apprehended by officers moments later and the alleged handgun retrieved. During an invstigation, officers were told that Clark went to the Railroad Avenue residence where Clark pulled the handgun on an occupant of the residence demanding money. According to reports, investigators obtained evidence supporting the alleged robbery and that Clark was a convicted felon illegally possessing the handgun. Clark was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Johnathon Priestly, 23 years of age, Address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 4:35pm.

Micah Soileau, 18 years of age, Address: Joey St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 7:51pm.

Koby Blair, 18 years of age, Address: Eighth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 8:21pm.

                  Illegal Use of a CDS While in the Presence of Persons Under age 17

Brandon M Collier, 21 years of age, Address: Orange St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 9:19pm. 

Charges:  Warrant - Failure to Appear for Simple Burglary
                  Warrant - Probation Violation

     Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Eighth Street where they located several subjects inside the residence which included persons under the age of 17. Four of the occupants located inside the residence were identified by investigators as Johnathon Priestley, Micah Soileau, Koby Blair and Brandon M Collier. A search of the residence was conducted when Priestly and Blair were found in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Reports indicated that during the investigation, it was believed that Blair had consumed some of the controlled substances while in the presence of the persons under age 17. The location of the incident was within the area of a local church in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. A warrants check revealed that Collier had active arrest warrants through the 16th Judicial District Court and that Soileau had active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Priestly, Blair, Collier and Soileau were all placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated. 

Johnathon D Hopper, 36 years of age, Address: Belanger St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 10:20pm. 

Charge:  Simple Battery

     An officer responded to a local grocery store on Hwy 182 in regard to a disturbance involving a battery. The officer arrived and spoke with the victim along with several witnesses to the incident. The officer was told that Johnathon D Hopper and a subject inside the store were involved in an argument when Hopper committed a battery on the victim.  Hopper who was present during the invistigation, was arrested for the alleged battery and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jamarius Palmer, 25 years of age, Address: Houston, Tx. was arrested on 08/16/2016 @ 11:00pm.

                  Possession of Firearm While in Possession of a CDS

     Morgan City Police Officers and Narcotics Detectives responded to Railroad Avenue @ Third Street in regard to a passenger train stopped and in need of police assistance. The officers arrived when they spoke with train employees who directed investigators to a restroom on board which contained illegal contraband. The officers boarded the train where they located a handgun with obliterated serial numbers along with a large amount of suspected MDMA (ecstacy) and marijuana inside the bathroom. Four suspects were located on board and identified as Kristie Williams, Dearra Armington, Jamarius Palmer and a male juvenile 16 years of age. During an investigation, investigators uncovered evidence which implicated the four suspects in connection with the contraband. Williams was found to possess additional suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The three adults were arrested and booked into the Morgan City Jail where they reamain incarcerated on the following bonds. Jamarius Palmer $20,000.00 , Dearra Armington $30,000.00 and Kristie Williams $21,500.00. The juvenile was arrested and later released to New Orleans authorities. The investigation continues.

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested 08/15/2016

Ronald Clark, 48 years of age, Address: Duke Street Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2016 @ 10:36am. 


Charges:   Armed Robbery
                   Possession of a FIrearm by Convicted Felon
                   Resisting an Officer
                   Obstruction of Justice

     On August 15, 2016 shortly after 10:00am, Morgan City Police Department Officers responded to a residence on Railroad Avenue in regard to a report of a subject with a gun. A description was provided when responding officers located a subject later identified as Ronald Clark who matched the description provided.  As officers approached, Clark fled from officers on foot for several city blocks at which time Clark discarded a handgun under a residnce in efforts to keep it from officers. Clark was apprehended moments later and the handgun retrieved. During an investigation, investigators learned that Clark had gone to the Railroad Avenue residence where Clark produced the handgun on an occupant demanding money. Clark, a convicted felon was illegally in possession of the firearm. Clark was arrested and booked into the Morgan City Jail where he remains incarcerated with no bond set.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period. 

Drew Landry, 20 years of age, Address: Delmar Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/12/2016 @ 5:10am. 

Charges:  Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
                  Hit and Run Driving

     Officers responded to the area of U.S. 90 East near Martin Luther King Blvd. in regard to a single vehicle crash. The officers arrived when they located a heavily damaged vehicle which appeared to be abandoned. During an investigation, reports indicated that officers were told that Drew Landry may have been the driver of the vehicle. Officers went to a residence on Vine Drive where they located Landry inside. According to reports, officers discovered evidence that Landry was the driver of the vehicle and that he had fled the scene after the crash. Landry who appeared to be intoxicated, was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Lance T Ashmore, 24 years of age, Address: Triveno St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 08/12/2016 @ 8:31pm. 

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace

     Officers responded to a local medical facility on Hwy 70 in regard to a call of an unruly patient. Officers arrived when they were told by medical staff that Lance T Ashmore was inside the facility causing a disturbance. The officers located Ashmore who according to reports was shouting using profane language and appeared to be intoxicated. Ashmore was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Tara Loupe, 36 years of age, Address: Susan Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested 08/13/2016 @ 11:29am. 

Charge:  Warrant - Simple Battery

     Tara Loupe was transported from the Franklin Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to an active arrest warrant held by Morgan City Police. The warrant was obtained from an incident reported on April 26, 2015 of an alleged battery. Loupe was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. 

Everette O Jack, 39 years of age, Address: Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/14/2016 @ 6:02am. 

Charges:  Criminal Trespassing
                  Possession of Marijuana
                  Warrant - Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Warrant - Resisting An Officer

     Officers responded to an residence on Sixth Street in regard to a suspicios vehicle abandoned and parked in the driveway blocking access to the complainant's garage. Upon inspecting the vehicle, officers observed what appeared to be suspected marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle. During an investigation, reports indicated that officers obtained information that Everette O Jack was the driver of the vehilce. Officers went to a residence on South Railroad Avenue where Jack was located inside. According to reports, officers uncovered evidence that Jack was the driver of the vehicle and had left the vehicle parked in the driveway blocking the garage. A warrants check revealed that Jack had several active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department. These warrants were obtained from an investigation conducted by Morgan City Police of an incident on July 2, 2016 where Jack was alleged to be in possession of marijuana and resisted an officer. Jack was placed under arrest and seached when officers located suspected drug paraphernalia on his person. Jack was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Louella R Taylor, 53 years of age, Address: Arizona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/14/2016 @ 11:40am. 

Charge:  Simple Battery

     An officer responded to a residence on Arizona Street in regard to a call to escortnig Louella R Taylor while she retrieved some belonging from the residence. While Taylor began to retrieved her belongs, reports indicate that she became angry and committed a battery on the owner of the residence. Taylor was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. 

Amber S Bleiler, 37 years of age, Address: Southeast Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/14/2016 @ 1:48pm.

Charges:  Resisting an Officer
                  

     A patrolling officer observed a female walking around several closed businesses on Hwy 182. The officer stopped and spoke with the female who identified herself as Amber Lilo. During an investigation, reports indicate that the officer learned that the female had given the officer a false name and that the female's true name was Amber S Bleiler. Bleiler was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. 

Avery D Metrejean, 34 years of age, Address: Sixth St. Moragan City, La. was arrested on 08/14/2016 @ 7:39pm. 

Charges:  Improper Lane Usage
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Aggravated Flight From an Officer

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on U.S. 90 cross over the white fog line several times. The officer activated the lights and siren on the unit in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle refused to stop. A vehicle persuit ensued as the vehicle crossed over the U.S. 90 Bridge into Berwick. Reports indicated the vehicle traveled off the roadway to go around other motorist as it turned onto Thourguson Road where the vehicle reached speeds of 79 mph in a 45 mph zone. The vehicle then went off the roadway into a drainage ditch when the driver exited the vehicle and fled from officers on foot. A foot chased ensued when officers apprehended the driver of the vehicle identified as Avery D Metrejean. A search of the vehicle was conducted when officer located suspected drug paraphernalia. Metrejean was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
