MCPD Arrest Report 08/04/2016

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 08/03/2016:

Karl Zimmer, 41 years of age, Address-Tupelo St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/03/2016 @ 11:36 am. 

Charge: Warrant- Domestic Abuse Battery

   Karl Zimmer turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in June, where it is alledged that Zimmer committed a battery on an individual. Zimmer was booked and incarcerated. 

Johnny Giroir, 22 years of age, Address- Glennwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2016 @ 12:37 am..

Charge- Disturbing the Peace- Fistic Encounters

   Officers responded to a residence on Glennwood St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to an individual identiifed as Johnny Girior. Reports indicate that Girior had gotten into a physical altercation with another individual at the residence. Both Girior and the other individual involved showed signs of a physcial altercation. Girior was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. The other individual was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. 

Jaiden Moseley, 17 years of age, Address- Enterprise Ave. Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/04/2016 @ 1:42 am. 

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana-1st Offense
                Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone

Hannah Crochet, 17 years of age, Address- Onstead St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2016 @ 1:42 am. 

Charge: Possession of Marijuana- 1st Offense
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Violation of Uniform CDS- Drug Free Zone

   A patrol officer in the area of Federal Ave. and Marshall St. noticed two individuals sitting in the bleechers of the baseball park at that location. The officer made contact with the individuals identified as Jaiden Moseley and Hannah Crochet. While speaking Moseley and Crochet, the officer observed a glass pipe commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics next the individuals. During the course of the investigation, suspected marijuana was retrieved from both Moseley and Crochet.The baseball park is also considered a drug free zone.  Both were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 08/01/2016:

Jasmen Harvey, 25 years of age, Address- Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2016 @ 5:00 pm. 

Charge:  Aggravated Battery
                Warrant- Failure to Appear-Speeding (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)

Kaylynn Driskill, 28 years of age, Address- Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2016 @ 17:00 pm. 

Charge:  Aggravated Battery

   Officers were dispatched to a residence on Grizzaffi St. in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to Jasmen Harvey. According to reports, Harvey stated that she and her girlfriend, Kaylynn Driskill had gotten into a verbal altercation, which turned physical when Driskill began hitting her with a soap dispenser. Officers did notice bruising on Harvey's back. Officers also spoke to Kaylynn Driskill and she did confirm that she and Harvey had a verbal altercation, but it escalated, when Harvey struck her several times with a cell phone. Officers observed marks and bruising on Driskill's facial area. Both Harvey and Driskill were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. Harvey also held an active warrant for the Sixteenth Judical District Court. 

Marcus D. Battle, 41 years of age, Address- Plum St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/01/2016 @ 11:23 pm. 

Charge: No Headlights
               Driving Under Suspension
               Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
               Possession of Schedule IV Alprazolam with Intent to Distribute
               Obstruction of Justice- Tampering with Evidence
               Transactions Involving Proceeds from Drug Offenses
  
   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Ditch Ave. observed a vehicle with only one functioning headlight. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Marcus Battle and he was asked to produce a valid driver's license.  A computer check revealed that Battle's driver's license was suspended. During the course of the investigation, Battle gave officers concent to search his vehicle. Before officers began the search, Battle grab a bag out of the vehicle and threw it onto the roadway. Officers were able to locate the bag and it contained a large amount of  suspected cocaine and several pills identified as Alprazolam. Also, located in the vehicle was U.S. Currency over $500 and the currency suspected to be from drug proceedings. Battle was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

 The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 07/28/2016:


David M. Chapa, 21 years of age, Address- Ingleside, TX was arrested on 07/28/2016 @ 1:30 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear for Theft

   David Chapa was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for an active warrant he held for the Sixth Ward City Court. Chapa was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Willard Wright, 58 years of age, Address- Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/28/2016 @ 6:12 pm. 

Charge:  Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
                Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle
                Driving While Intoxicated (1st Offense)

   Officers were dispatched to the area of Sixth St. and Brashear Ave. in regards to a reckless driver. Officers were given a description of the vehicle and a vehicle fitting that description was located on Sixth and Pine St. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Willard Wright. According to reports, the officer could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from Wright's person. The officer also observed an open can of an alcoholic beverage. Wright consented to a Standard Field Soberity Test, which he performed poorly. Wright was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Wright submitted to the chemical test for intoxication.  Wright's result was .118 g% of blood alcohol content. Wright was booked and incarcerated. 

Wynn C. Whitehurst, 40 years of age, Address- Sixth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 07/28/2016 @ 11:14 pm.

Charge: No Turn Signal
              Switched License Plate
              Warrant- Criminal Neglect of Family (St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office)

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Roderick St. observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal, while turning onto Hwy 182. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Wynn Whitehurst. Whitehurst was asked to provide a valid driver's license. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had a switched license plate. Also, Whitehurst held an active warrant for the Sixthteenth Judicial District Court. Whitehurst was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Jose P. Ancheta, 38 years of age, Address- Duke St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/29/2016 @ 1:20 am. 

Charge:  Hit & Run
                No Driver's License
                Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle

   Officers responded to a hit and run vehicle crash in the area of Railroad Ave. near Headland St. Officers arrived and spoke to the victim, who stated that his vehicle was parked, when another vehicle struck the front of his vehicle and fled the area. The victim was able to give officers a description of the vehicle. A vehicle fitting the description was located at the intersection of Duke and Eighth St. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jose Ancheta. Officers observed that Ancheta's vehicle had damage consistent with the damage of the victim's vehicle. Ancheta was asked to provide a valid driver's license. A computer checked revealed that Ancheta did not have a valid license. The officer also noticed an open bottle of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Ancheta was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 08/02/2016: 

Jason L. Smith, 27 years of age, Address- Point Pleasant Dr. Berwick, La. was arrested on 08/02/2016 @ 9:54 am. 

Charge: Warrant- Negligent Injury

  Jason Smith turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in May of 2016, in which Smith was involved in a vehicle crash with a bicycle on Hwy 70. Smith was booked and incarcerated,

Allison Lacombe, 51 years of age, Address-Springvield , La. was arrested on 08/02/2016 @ 1:10 pm. 

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace Use of Offensive  Language

Kasha Cordova, 48 years of age, Address- Maryland St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/02/2016 @ 1:10 pm. 

Charge: Simple Battery

  Officers were dispatched to a local business on Fifth St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with Allison Lacombe. According to reports, Lacambe stated that she came to the business to pick up money owed to her by Kasha Cordova. A verbal altercation began with she and Cordova, which escalated when Cordova struck Lacombe in the facial area. Officers located Cordova and reports indicate that she did admit to striking Lacombe. While officers were conducting the investigation, Lacombe began using profanities and was asked to stop several times to stop, but continued. Both Lacombe and Cordova was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 07/29/2016:

Lorelyn M. Gotcher, 30 years of age, Address- Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/29/2016 @ 11:22 am. 

Charge:  Hit and Run
                No Insurance
                Driving Under Suspension
   
   Officers responded to the area of Brashear and Federal Ave. in regards to a hit and run vehicle crash. Officers arrived and spoke to the victim. According to reports, the victim stated that she was proceeding East on Brashear Ave, when the passenger side of her vehicle was struck by another vehicle.  The vehicle did not stop and proceeded East on Brashear Ave. A description of the vehicle was given out to officers and a short time later, a vehicle fitting the description was located on Terrebonne St. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Lorelyn Gotcher. The officer observed that the damage to Gotcher's vehicle was consistent with the damage on the victim's vehicle. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Gotcher's driver's license was suspended and her vehicle did not have insurance. Gothcher was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Michael P. Crouch, 30 years of age, Address- Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/29/2016 @ 7:30 pm. 

Charge:  Driving Under Suspension

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Myrtle St. observed a vehicle with an expired license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Micheal Crouch was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Crouch's driver's license was under suspension. Crouch was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Gustavo Veregin, 26 years of age, Address- Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/29/2016 @ 10:24 pm.

Charge:  Driving Under Suspension

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Ditch Ave. observed a vehicle without any headlights on. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Gustavo Veregin was asked to produce a valid driver's license. A computer check revealed that Veregin's driver's license was suspended. Veregin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Joseph Estay, 46 years of age, Address- Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/30/2016 @ 12:40 am. 

Charge: False Imprisonment

   Officers were dispatched to a residence on Aucoin St. in regards to someone being prevented from leaving the home. Officers arrived and received information from witnesses the victim had been contacting them via cellphone and stating her boyfriend, Joseph Estay will not let her leave. Officers were able to make entry into the home and located the victim and Estay in one of the bedrooms. Estay was detained by an officers. According to reports, the victim indicated that Estay would not let her leave the residence and feared that he would harm her. Estay was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 

Micah Soileau, 18 years of age, Address- Joey St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 07/30/2016 @ 5:30 pm. 

Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation

  Officers located Micah Soileau in the area of Hwy 182 and Florence St. A warrants check was done on Soileau and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. Soileau was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration

Mary Mayfield, 60 years of age, Address- Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/31/2016 @ 8:41 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

   Officers were dispatched to the area of Hwy 182 and Aycock St. in regards to a vehicle involved in illegal drug activity. A description of the vehicle was given out and officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Hwy 182.  Officers observed an individual exiting the vehicle and sit in front of one of the apartment. The individual was identified as Mary Mayfield. While talking to Mayfield, an officer observed suspected marijuana next to where she was sitting. Mayfield consented to a search of her person and the officer located suspected marijuana  and drug paraphernalia on Mayfield. Mayfield was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.  

Clarence Junifer, 56 years of age, Address- Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2016 @ 2:26 am. 

Charge:  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  Officers were dispatched to a local convenient store on Hwy 182 in regards to an individual possibly involved in illegal drug activity. A description of the individual was given out and officers located an individual fitting the description in the parking lot. The individual was identified as Clarence Junifier.  Junifer gave officers consent search his person and a small metal pipe commonly used to smoke illegal narcotics was found on Junifer. Junifer was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 07/27/2016. 

Brennan M Acosta, 22 years of age, Address: Willow St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/27/2016 @ 12:45pm. 

Charges:  Warrant - Littering 

     Brennan M Acosta was located by an officer at a residence on Willow Street where he was arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant was obtained from an incident reported on July 20, 2016 of alleged littering. Acosta was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Kevin J Diggs, 38 years of age, Address: Roys Lane Franklin, La. was arrested on 07/27/2016 @ 6:52pm. 

Charges:  Obscured Windshield
                   Driving Under Suspension
                   No Vehicle Insurance

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with an obscured windshield traveling in the area of Hwy182 near U.S. 90.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Kevin J Diggs. During a traffic investigation, reports indicate it was learned that Diggs had a suspended drivers license and the vehicle did not have state required insurance. Diggs was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Bryan K Faulk, 32 years of age, Address: Village Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/28/2016 @ 12:05am. 

Charges:  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 06/28/16 for Littering
                  Warrant - Failure to Appear on 06/28/16 for Open Alcohol Container

     Bryan K Faulk was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Faulk was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
