The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 08/22/2014:

 

 

Earl Neal Jr. , 32 years of age, Address-Savanna Rd. Houma, La. was arrested on 08/22/2014 @ 1:22pm

Charge: Warrant: Disturbing the Peace; Warrant: Aggravated Assault on an Officer (2 Counts)

Earl Neal Jr. turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department where he was arrested on outstanding warrants for an incident which took place in Morgan City on August 02, 2014.  In that incident. officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at Lake End Park area in Morgan City.  After officers arrived, they encountered a subject who had entered the water and began to swim away, and threatening suicide.  Officers intervened and attempted to reach the subject by boat, however the subject retreived large rocks from the bottom and according to reports, throw them at the officers who were attempting to aid him.  The subject reportedly then used the rocks in an attempt to strike himself.  The officers were able to retrieve the subject.  He was transported to a medical facility for psychiatric evaluation.  A warrant was secured for his arrest.  He was booked and released after posting a cash bond of $1,500.00. 

 

 

Cory D.  Sims, 36 years of age, Address-St. Charles St. Lake Charles, La. was arrested on 08/23/2014 @ 2:15am

Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana; Improper Lane Usage, Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated 2nd Offense; No Vehicle Registration; Expired Drivers License; Window Tint Violation

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner near the intersection of Sandra St. and Redwood St. The vehicle made an improper turn from the wrong lane and was stopped by the officer to investigate.   The driver, Cory Sims could not produce a valid drivers license nor vehicle registration.  The officer also observed that the vehicle's windows had tint applied which obscured the inward view of the vehicle.  Cory Sims was found to exhibit signs of impairment.  The officer also located open containers of alcoholic beverage and suspected synthetic marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle.  The driver, Sims submitted to a field sobreity test which he did poorly on.  Sims was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Sims attempted to maneuver the handcuffs in front of his body and was stopped.  He was further searched and found to be in possession of two more small open containers of suspected synthetic marijuana.  Sims refused the Intoxilyzer 5000 test and was booked and incarcerated.  

 

 

Priscilla M. Lovell, 37 years of age, Address-Southeast Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/23/2014 @ 2:27am

Charge: Entry/Remaining where Forbidden, Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated; Resisting an Officer

     Officers responded to a complaint of a female entering a Seventh St. property after being forbidden.  The female, according to officers was knocking on the windows and doors attempting to enter the residence.  As officers arrived, they observed the subject Priscilla Lovell at a window of the residence.  Upon seeing officers, Lovell fled from the officer after the officer identified himself and ordered her to stop.  Officers searched the area and eventually located Lovell hiding in shrubbery and detained her.  Officers determined that Priscilla Lovell was in an intoxicated condition and placed her under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Lucas J. Lang, 26 years of age, Address-Timothy Dr. Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 08/23/2014 @ 7:36pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Speeding, Driving Under Suspension, No Insurance ; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Officers were dispatched to the area of La. Highway 70 regarding a reckless driver.  Officers arrived and located the driver at Teche Regional parking lot and identified the driver as Lucas Lang.  While speaking with Lang, it was determined that he was wanted on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Lang was also found to be in possession of a metal pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Hit & Run Driving; Careless Operation with an Accident; Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; No Drivers License

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Ditch Ave. and Seventh St. regarding two suspicious vehicles.  Officers arrived in the area and discovered a truck being towed by another in the area and stopped to investigate. The vehicle being removed from the scene was observed to have damage to the front of the vehicle.  Officers located a utility pole and fire hydrant located on Railroad Ave. which had been damaged.  Evidence collected at the scene led officers to determine that the vehicle being removed from the scene had caused the damage.  The driver of the vehicle, identified as Edwin Posadas-Vega was observed to exhibit signs of impairment.  He was not able to complete a field sobriety test due to his impairment and was arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .175g%.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace by Fighting; Warrant: Probation Violaton

Officers were dispatched to the corner of McDermott and Roderick St. in regards to a disturbance.  Officers arrived to learn that Jessica Pearce and Jody Cubbege, according to witnesses had been involved in a verbal altercation which turned physical when both subjects began to fight.  The subject were also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and were subsequently arrested.  Jody Cubbege, upon being escorted to the police unit began to become belligerent and had to be physically restrained to be placed in a police unit.  Once at the police department, he had to be placed in a holding cell due to his combative nature.  Both were booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a speeding vehicle being driven erratically in the area of Highway 182 and observed the vehicle cross the center line several times, almost causing an accident.  The officer stopped the vehicle and came into contact with the driver, Darrell Morrison who, according to reports, exhibited signs of impairment.  Morrison was provided a field sobriety test in which he failed.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .134g%.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Attempted Theft (Value $15.98); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (6th Offense); Resisting an Officer; Obstruction of Justice

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 convenience store in regards to a shoplifter who was attempting to flee the store.  Officers arrived to observe a vehicle speeding from the scene.  Officers followed the vehicle and observed the vehicle being driven erratically and reckless.  The vehicle was detained near Florence St. and Sixth St. and the driver identified as Kurt Stephens.  Upon investigation, it was learned that the passenger, Cory Chapman had taken flashlights from the store valued at $15.98 and fled, entering the vehicle and screaming for the driver, Kurt Stephens to leave.  Upon detaining Chapman, officers observed him to be in possession of a glass pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  As officers attempted to secure the item, Chapman began to resist the officers and made attempts to destroy the evidence.  He was subdued and placed in the rear of the police unit.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

     Officers were dispatched to a Fifth St. residence regarding a domestic dispute.  Officers arrived and during the investigation identified Nathaniel Paul, a resident at that location as the subject involved in the dispute.  Officers gathered statements and evidence that Nathaniel Paul became involved in an argument with a female at that location and is accused of choking the female, throwing her to the ground.  The female had minor injuries in the altercation.  Paul was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Marcus Hatch was transferred from L.E.C. to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City.  He was booked and remains incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to negotiate a stop sign in the area of Shannon St. and Terrebone St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Keyandre Polidore was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Patterson Police Department for a felony, Distribution of Cocaine.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  

 

 

James D. Wells III, 35 years of age, Address-Shirley Dr. Houma, La. was arrested on 08/18/2014 @ 6:59pm

Officers received a call of an intoxicated subject in the parking lot of a Highway 182 business and arrived to investigate.  Officers discovered a male subject, James Wells lying in the parking lot in an impaired condition.  The subject was detained and upon further investigation was found to be in possession of two Schedule III CDS drugs-Clonazepam and Suboxone.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Robert R. McMichael, 22 years of age, Address-Brashear Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/18/2014 @ 10:07pm

Charge: Improper Lighting; Operating with a Susended Drivers License; Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Improper Lighting; Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-No Insurance.

An officer patrolling the area near Federal Ave. and Brashear observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Robert McMichael was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants from the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City and was arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrollling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 182 in Morgan City with improper lighting.  The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Dwight Blackburn.  Mr. Blackburn was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was arrested.  Officers gathered evidence which indicated that the vehicle may contain illegal narcotics and began in investigation.  The officers identified the passenger in the vehicle, Eric L. Fontenot and found outstanding warrants for Mr. Fontenot from Rayne PD as well as the Morgan City Police Department.  The Morgan City Police Department possessed an outstanding warrant for Mr. Fontenot which identified Mr. Fontenot as a suspect which was involved in an armed robbery which was reported to the Morgan City Police Department on October 16, 2010.  In that incident, the victim was  allegedly robbed by subjects armed with a handgun.  Fontenot was identified in that investigation and a warrant secured.  During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located crack cocaine and synthetic cannabinoids.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and remain incarcerated.

A patrolling officer located Barbara Fraley in the area of Federal Ave. near Egle St. and found her to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Fraley was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers came into contact with a male subject, Brandon Griffin in the area of Teche Regional Hospital and learned of an outstanding Morgan City Police warrant for his arrest.  The warrants stemmed from an investigation of a theft of a camera by Thibodaux Police Department which indicated that the camera was taken to Morgan City and pawned at a local pawn shop for $120.00 in cash.  Morgan City Police Detectives investigated and secured arrest warrants for Griffin with regards to the May 2014 incident. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He was released after posting a cash bond.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of Eighth St. and Clothilde and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Shane Martin was observed to be in an impaired condition by the officer and submitted to a field sobriety test which he failed.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .086g%.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Lisa Mclemore was located at Ashland Correctional Facility in Terrebone Parish and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked on several outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was booked and remains incarcerated with a bond of $20,000.00.

Officers were dispatched to a a Brashear Ave. department store and advised of a male subject who refused to leave the premises when asked by the management.  Witnesses advised that the subject became involved in a profanity laced arguement with the management in front of other customers in the store.  The subject, Jahmarcus Paddio was located and during questioning, admitted to officers of the encounter.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Arrest Report 08/18/2014

Rene A. Landry, 55 years of age, Address-Brashear Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/15/2014 @ 8:00pm

Charge: Disturbing the Peace (Profane Language)

Officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a Brashear Ave. residence.  Officers arrived and learned that Rene Landry had become involved in a verbal altercation with a neighbor and during the disturbance, began to use loud profane language in view of children in the area.  Officers arrived and located Landry who continued to yell loud profane language even after being advised by officers to cease.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He was released after posting a cash bond.

A patrolling officer detained a vehicle for improper lighting in the area of Sixth St. and Greenwood St. and came into contact with the driver, Bryant Francois who was found to be wanted on several outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a Justa St. hotel and learned of a physical altercaton between two subjects.  In the investigation it was alleged that a subject, Damen Dobson had struck another subject in the face which led to the disturbance.  Dobson was located, arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Hit & Run; Carless Operation; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

Officers responded to a Hit& Run accident in the area of Tupelo St. Officers arriving on the scene were provided a description of a vehicle which had struck a parked vehicle and then fled from the scene.  Officers searched and were able to locate a suspect vehicle and identified the driver as Daniel Aucoin Jr.   After being questioned, Aucoin made admissions to the officer that he was indeed involved in the crash.  He was also found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  Daniel Aucoin Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  He was released after posting a cash bond.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a Bowman St. residence and arrived to locate Tyrone Bradford.  Bradford, who appeared intoxicated, according to witnesses became invovled in a dispute with another subject.  As officers spoke to Bradford, he became belligerent, using loud profane language causing a disturbance.  The subject refused to cease and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute at a Railroad Ave. residence.  Officers arrived and learned that Kelvin Walker, who was found to be intoxicated, was involved in a verbal altercation with a female at the residence.  During the altercation, Walker was accused of a battery to the female which caused minor injuries.  Walker was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle at Everette St. and Highway 182 to investigate.  The driver, JC Ford was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond.
