Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated, Loud and Abusive Language

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of Fourth St. regarding a disturbance.  When officers arrived, they were directed to Curtis Robinson who was at the residence yelling and causing a disturbance.  The subject could be heard using loud and profane language causing others to gather.  The subject, Robinson was found in an intoxicated condition.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle near the intersection of Front St. and Brashear Ave. with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, who initially identified himself as Anthony Jones, could not produce a valid drivers license or proof of liability insurance.  The vehicle was also found to have an expired license plate which had expired in 2007.  During the detention, the subject who continued to act suspicously was identified as Anthony Kelly.  He was placed under arrest for the traffic violations and his efforts to conceal his identity from officers with false information.  A check on the subject uncovered outstanding warrants in both Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Department as well as Terrebone Parish Sheriff's Department.  It was also learned that the subject was a wanted person by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department on an outstanding warrant which was the result of an investigation of a shooting involving a Morgan City Police officer which had taken place on December 25, 2013.  In that incident, Morgan City Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 motel to locate a wanted person.  The officers came into contact with a vehicle which was allegedly being driven by Anthony Kelly.  Kelly attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle and refused officers orders to stop.  It is alleged that Kelly, in his attempt to flee produced a handgun and directed it in a threatening manner towards a Morgan City officer who then fired his weapon, striking the vehicle.  The vehicle then sped away from the scene.  The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department was called to investigate the shooting.  As a result of the incident, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Anthony Kelly.   Anthony Kelly was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated with no bond yet set.

Charge: Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle

A patrolling officer near the intersection of Highway 182 and Roderick St. observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner headed East on Highway 182.  The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, with it's emergency flashers activated and continued to pass vehicles in a reckless manner during wet road conditions.  The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle and was able to finally able to stop the vehicle as it turned into a Highway 182 lounge near Amelia, La.  The driver, Russell Richard was detained with the assistance of St. Mary Parish Deputies and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation

A patrolling officer located Shaunice Smith in the area of Fifth St. and Freret St. and placed her under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department's jail facility where she was booked and incarcerated. 



John Augman, 49 years of age, Address-Baton Rouge, La. was arrested on 04/29/2014 @ 5:15am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; No License Plate Light

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in the area of Eleventh St. and Railroad Ave. with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle, John Augman was found to be driving the vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  The driver, Augman, who is a convicted felon was also found to be in possession of a loaded .38 cal. firearm inside his vehice.  The driver, Augman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Arrest Report 04/17/2014

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 04/16/2014:

 

     On 04/16/2014 @ 8:12am, three male juveniles, ages 13,14,15 were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department after a teacher at the Morgan City High School encountered the three juveniles attempting to enter the weight room building on school property.  The juveniles were then observed entering a parked school bus in the parking area, damaging the interior of the bus by activating a fire extinquisher inside the vehicle.  Officers located the subjects nearby and postively identified the juveniles as the suspects.  They were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and each charged with Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass.  They were then released to parents pending juvenile court proceedings. 

 

Ricky Duval 04162014

Ricky L. Duval, 33 years of age, Address-Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/16/2014 @ 7:16am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Theft by Shoplifting; Warrant: St. Mary S.O.-Failure to Appear on Resisting an Officer and Driving Under Suspension; Resisting an Officer; Criminal Trespass

Officers were dispatched to a Roderick St. apartment regarding an illegally parked vehicle.  While investigating, officers encountered the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Ricky Duval.  Duval could not provide officers with an identification and while attempting to retrieve his identification, fled from officerrs.  Officers searched the area after being provided with a description and with the aid of a tip from a local resident, were able to apprahend the suspect as he fled throughout the neighborhood.  Duval was arrested and found to be wanted on a warrant for the Morgan City Police Department as well as the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  Duval was also charged with additional charges related to this incident.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Mong T. Duval, 28 years of age, Address-William St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 04/16/2014 @ 1:50pm

Charge: 2 Brake Lights required; No Motor Vehicle Insurance; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of Schedule III CDS-Buprenorphine; Possession of Schedule III CDS-Hydrocodone (4 Counts)

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven with improper lighting in the area of Sixth St. and Brashear Ave. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Mong Duval could not produce a drivers license on her person.  The vehicle was also found to be uninsured.  Officers prepared to issue citations and remove the vehicle from the roadway and upon conducting an inventory, located items of drug paraphernalia, and two different Schedule III CDS drugs, buprenorphine and hydrocodone.  Duval was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Officers located Nicole Fisher at her Belanger St. residence and placed her under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Fisher was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace by Fighting

Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a fight on Chester Bowles in Morgan City.  Officers arrived to investigate and learned that a 14 year old juvenile and an adult, Sydnie Wainwright were invovled in a fistic encounter.  Both were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.  The juvenile was released to parents pending juvenile court proceedings.

Morgan City officers received a complaint from a St. Mary Parish Deputy who observed two subjects involved in a physical altercation on Highway 182.  Officers arrived and learned that the two subjects, Roberto Ramos, and Diego Guerrero had been involved in a fistic encounter before officers encountered them.  The subject both had physical evidence of the encounter and were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana


A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle in the area of Front St. and Belanger St. after the vehicle was observed failiing to signal a turn.  They identified the driver as Brandi Lacoste who was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  Lacoste was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department as well as the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  During her arrest, Lacoste was also found to be in possession of a Schedule III CDS-Hydrocodone. A passenger in the vehicle, Nicole Ross was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana.  Both were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charges: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Crack Cocaine(3rd Offense); Possession of Schedule I CDS-Marijuana (5th Offense); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (2nd Offense); Aggravated Flight From an Officer; Speeding 30mph/15mph zone (School Zone); Obstruction of Justice; Window Tint Violation; Resisting an Officer; Improper Display of a License Plate; No Seat Belt; No Motor Vehicle Inspection Sticker; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

Officers patrolling the school zone area near MD Shannon Elementary observed a vehicle speeding within the marked school zone in the area.  The officer stopped the vehicle on Highway 182 in Berwick,La. The driver, then sped away from the officers traveling West on U.S. Highway 90 at speeds which approached 90 mph.  The driver of the vehicle led officers throughout the Bayou Vista area.  The driver eventually stopped in the area of Pluto St. and fled on foot from the vehicle, refusing officers orders to stop.  Officers observed the subject attempting to destroy and discard several items from his possession which were later recovered and discovered to be several pieces of suspected crack cocaine, a Schedule II CDS and suspected marijuana, a Schedule I CDS.  The subject was captured and placed under arrest.  During the investigation officers located several small pieces of suspected crack cocaine inside the suspects vehicle which was also recovered along with items of drug paraphernalia.  The subject, Bridget Murray Jr. was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  The subject, was also charged with several violations related to the condition of his vehicle such as improperly displaying a license plate, window tint violation, no motor vehicle inspection.  Murray L. Bridget Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated with no bond yet set.

Arrest Report 04/28/2014

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 04/25/2014:

Daniel Ramirez, 38years of age, Address-Arlington Rd. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 04/25/2014 @ 10:14am

Charge: Warrant: First Degree Negligent Injuring; Warrant: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated

     Daniel Ramirez was located at his residence in Bayou Vista, La. and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department on outstanding warrants which were secured as a result of an crash investigation which occurred on on 09/29/2013.  During the crash, Ramirez was accused of striking a responding fireman with his vehicle.  The incident resulted in injuries to the first responder which required extensive medical treatment.  A blood analysis was conducted and the results indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .15g%.  A warrant was then secured for Ramirez.  He was booked into the Morgan City Police Department's jail facility where he remains incarcerated with a bond of $105,000.00.

Officers received a complaint of telephone harassment from a resident located on Willow St.  During the investigation, it was learned that Joseph Stansbury had repeatedly called the residence and refused to cease.  He was located at his Hilda St. residence and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer came into contact with Joseph Julien near the intersection of Fourth St. and Greenwood St. in Morgan City.  A check revealed that the subject was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  Julien was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers received a complaint of a disturbance at a Railroad Ave. lounge and arrived to investigate.  During the investigation, it was learned that a male subject had struck the manager of the lounge when asked to leave.  The manager, who did not receive any injuries provided a description of the subject who had fled the scene.  The subject, identified as Christopher Thomas was located a short distance away and found to be in an intoxicated condition.  He was postively identified and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers responded to a disturbance at a Garber St. residence.  When officers arrived, they learned that two females, Britany Gray and Laquisha Price had been involved in a disturbance.  During the disturbance, several objects were thrown about. Another subject, Kenwood Guillory was accused of becoming involved in the disturbance and striking another female in the eye causing minor injuries.  The three subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Officers received a complaint of a suspicious subject at a Hwy 182 motel and arrived to investigate.  They located Tyler Adams sitting inside a vehicle in the parking lot and learned that Adams was wanted on several outstanding warrants.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers of the Morgan City Police Department learned that a female, Brenda Randle was attempting to sell controlled substances illegally and began to investigate.  An officer, working in an undercover capacity made contact with Brenda Randle and a male subject, Jeffrey Gilmore and negotiated the purchase of two Schedule III controlled dangerous substances-Hydrocodone and Suboxone.  During the negotiation, the subjects attempted to obtain crack cocaine, a Schedule II CDS in exchange for the items.  Both subjects were met at a predetermined location in Morgan City and detained.  They were found to be in possession of the Schedule III substances .  Randle was also found to possess drug paraphernalia and was additionally charged.  Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and remain incarcerated.

Officers received a call in regards to an intoxicated subject at the intersection of Fourth St. and Greenwood St.  They located the subject, Jerry Boyer and discovered him to be intoxicated.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer located Johnny Deberry in the area of Lawrence Park and placed him under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Criminal Damage to Property

Chad Pickens was transported to the Morgan City Police Department from LEC and booked on an outstanding warrant for criminal damage to property.  The warrant was based on an allegation that Pickens damaged tires on a vehicle belonging to the victim causing damage totalling $210.00.  He was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle which appeared to be speeding in the area of Highway 90 and Highway 182 intersection and clocked the vehicle at 48 mph in a 35 mph zone.  The driver of the vehicle, Kathleen Heard was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Peter Grogan was located at a Railroad Ave. residence by a patrolling officer and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department charging him with Second Degree Battery from an incident which is alleged to have occurred on April 5th, 2014 where he reportedly struck a female causing injuries which required medical attention.  The subject was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer located Anthony Harris near the intersection of Headland St. and Railroad Ave. and placed him under arrest on several outstanding warrants.  Upon searching Harris, officers located a .380 cal. handgun concealed on his person.  Harris, who did not have a valid permit for the weapon was charged with the concealment of that weapon.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
