Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Window Tint Violation; Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Speeding; Warrant; Failure to Pay Fine-No Insurance

A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle with illegal window tint in the area of Hwy 182 and Eleventh St.   The driver, Ronald Barrow was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was arrested.  He as also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and was additionally charged. He was booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail facility. 

Kiersten Johnson, 32 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/03/2014 @ 7:54am

Charge: Window Tint Violation; Driving Under Suspension; Warrant: St. Mary-Criminal Damage to Property over $500.00.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper window tint and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Kiersten Johnson was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  Johnson was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  She was arrested, transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

Harold A. Jones, 36 years of age, Address-New Orleans, La. was arrested on 04/03/2014 @ 8:03am

Charge: Aggravated Assault with a Firearm; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; Possession of Schedule II CDS-Crack Cocaine; Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Insitution; Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance; Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department-Failure to Appear for Trial-Domestic Abuse Battery, Resisting an Officer; Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department-Probation Violation

Joshua N. Bertrand, 35 years of age, Address-Houma, La. was arrested on 04/03/2014 @ 8:03am

Charge: Obstruction of Justice; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Principal to Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

Officers were dispatched to a Ninth St. residenced to investigate a complaint of an aggravated assault with a firearm.  Officers were provided the name of the suspect, Harold Jones and a vehicle in which the subject reportedly left the scene in.  Officers located the suspect vehicle which contained two subjects, the suspect, Harold Jones and the driver, Joshua Bertrand.  Officers located a sawed-off type shotgun on the floorboard of the vehicle which was discovered to be loaded. The subjects were detained.  During the stop, the driver, Joshua Bertrand was discovered discarding a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics under the vehicle.  Bertrand admitted to officers that he had driven Jones to the residence with the weapon.  During the investigation it was alleged that the victim answered the door of the residence and was confronted by Jones who pointed the shotgun and told the victim they were going to die.  The victim was able to close the door and contact police officers as the suspects fled the scene.  Both Harold Jones and Joshua Bertrand were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Harold Jones, after entering the correctional facility was found to possess suspected crack cocaine.  It was seized.  He was also found to be wanted on two warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  Both subjects were booked and remain incarcerated. 

Myles Morgan, 26 years of age, Address-First St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/03/2014 @ 11:43am

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

Officers were dispatched to a Pershing St. residence in regards to a subject causing a disturbance. Officer arrived and located the suspect, Myles Morgan who was found to be in an impaired condition.  Morgan admitted to officers that he had consumed illegal narcotics.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Gary Draper was located at a Highway 182 motel and placed under arrest on an oustanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department's jail facility where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to negotiate a stop light and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver.  The driver, Shelly Lewis was found to be a wanted person for an outstanding warrant from 2005 for Probation Violation with the City Court of Morgan City.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Improper Lighting

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle on Federal Ave. near Garber St.  The driver, Eric Tabor appeared extremely nervous during questioning. Tabor was found to possess a pipe commonly used to consume illegal drugs.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Monica Slack was located at a Second St. residence and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was booked and incarcerated at the Morgan City Jail facility.

Charge: Distribution of Legend Drug w/o a Presciption-Promethazine

Morgan City Police Narcotics Detectives received an anonymous tip in regards to subjects attempting to sell Oxycodone in the area of Greenwood St. and Front St.  The subjects were reportedly in a motor vehicle at that location.  Investigators traveled to that location and located the vehicle in question.  The subjects negotiated the sale of several tablets of reported Oxycodone with the agent.  At the completion of the sale, the subjects were detained by officers.  The money used and reported Oxycodone were recovered.  The pills were discovered to be Promethazine, a presciption medication.  The subjects, Ricky Roberts of Fayete, Mississippi was found to possess a suspected Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana.  He was also found to be a fugitive from the State of Mississippi after he did not report to serve his sentence for a previous burglary as ordered by the courts.  He and the second subject, Stephen Detullio were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

John P. Washington, 22 years of age, Address-Labedieville, La. was arrested on 04/01/2014 @ 6:12pm

Charge: Warrant: Assumption Parish-Failure to Appear for Possession of Marijuana

John Washington was located at Teche Regional Medical Center and placed under arrest for an outstanding warrant for Assumption Parish Sheriff's Department.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace; Resisting an Officer

     Officers were dispatched to a Hwy 182 lounge in regards to a disturbance.  Officers arrived and learned of a disturbance between two individuals inside the lounge.  Once subject, Gavin Guarisco, who was being held back by bystanders,refused instructions to stop the disturbance.  Guarisco was observed pushing away bystanders who were trying to calm him and according to reports, lunged towards an officer who was attempting to intervene.  The officer restrained Guarisco and placed him under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 

Officers were dispatched to the area of Highway 182 near Days Inn in regards to a vehicle in a ditch.  Officers arrived and discovered a vehicle which had left the roadway and was stuck in a drainage ditch.  The officers located the driver, Hilda Sanabria who exhibited signs of impairment and was given a field sobriety test in which she did poorly on.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .171g%. She was booked and incarcerated. 

Davonte J. Williams, 22years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/29/2014 @ 11:13am

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation; Possession of Schedule I CDs-Marijuana

An officer observed a subject throw paper to the ground in the area of Bowman St. and Federal Ave. and attempted to speak with the subject.  The subject fled from the officer and was later located by assisting officers in the area.  The subject, Davonte Williams was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department and was arrested.  Upon being transported to the Morgan City Police Department, the subject attempted to discard suspected marijuana which was seized.  He was additionally charged.  He was booked and remains incarcerated. 

Cory A. Chapman, 49 years of age, Address-Franklin, La. was arrested on 03/29/2014 @ 3:24pm

Charge: Theft under $300.00; Criminal Trespass; Resisting an Officer; Possession of Schedule II CDS-Crack Cocaine; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Officers were dispatched to a Sixth St. residence regarding a subject who had just committed the theft of several items from the property.  Officers arrived and were provided a description and were able to locate the subject in the area.  The suspect, Corey Chapman was detained and found to be in possession of several item, a battery charger and battery which were taken from the residence.  The subject, Chapman attempted to flee from officers and had to be physically restrained.  Chapman attempted to discard a package which contained suspected crack cocaine.  Chapman at the time of his arrest was also found to be in possession of a drug paraphernalia-a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  Chapman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated.  The stolen items were recovered and returned to the owner. 

Kenneth Rollins, 24 years of age, Address-Highway 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/29/2014 @ 12:22pm

Charge: Warrant: Disturbing the Peace; Possession of Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana (3rd Offense); Warrant: St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office-Theft

A patrolling officer observed a subject, Kenneth Rollins in the area of Highway 182 and was aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  Rollins was detained and indeed discovered to be wanted on the outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  At the time of his arrest, he was also found to be in possession of a Schedule I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana which was also seized.  Rollins was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department and was additionally charged.  He was booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Police Jail facility.

Charge: Felony Possession of Stolen Things (Motor Vehicle)

Officers were dispatched to the area of Front St. and Brashear Ave. regarding an intoxicated driver.  Officers arrived and located two subjects walking from a vehicle which matched the description.  It was learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen from the New Iberia area.  Moises Hernandez, who was in possession of the vehicle was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

A patrolling officer observed a subject, Willis Junifer in the area of Federal and Egle St. and was aware of an outstanding warrant for his arrest.  The subject was detained and placed under arrest on the warrant.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 Apartment building in regards to a disturbance.  Officers arrived and learned that Shanice Marshall and Gregory Johnson had been involved in an altercation and disturbance earlier.  The disturbance resulted in a glass window being broken and the gathering of several bystanders.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

David L. Robicheaux, 72 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/02/2014 @ 1:41pm

Charge: Hit & Run Driving

Officers were dispatched to a parking lot located on Sacred Heart Drive in Morgan City in regards to damage to property.  Officers arrived and learned that a subjects vehicle had been struck while parked and that the person responsible had left the scene.  Officers were able to identify a suspect through surveillence camera footage as David Robicheaux.  Robicheaux was summoned back to the scene and admitted striking the vehicle and leaving the scene after observing the damage caused.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released on a cash bond.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension; Improper Turning; No Proof of Liability Insurance

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an improper left turn at the intersection of Allison St. and MLK Blvd. and stopped the vehicle.  The driver, Michael Billiot could not produce any proof of liability insurance and was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  Billiot was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 apartment complex regarding a disturbance.  Officers arrived and learned that Demarcus Skipper and Cody Thibodeaux had been involved in a verbal altercation which caused a disturbance to others in the area.  It is alleged that Cody Thibodeaux armed himself with a large knife during the altercation and made threats agains Skipper.  Boths subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a subject being robbed in the area of Federal Ave. and Egle St.  Officers arrived and were advised by the victim that a subject, George Harvey, reportedly approached the victim, striking them in the side of the face and grabbing $30.00 from the subjects and fleeing.  Officers located the suspect who was positively identified as the subject involved.  Harvey was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 convenience store in regards to a subject causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and were advised by the complainant that a subject had entered the store, began to create a disturbance with the cashier.  The cashier advised that another subject intervened and pursuaded the suspect to leave the premises.  A description was provided to the officers who located the suspects and short distance away and detained their vehicle.  The suspect, Jeremie Harrison, was identified and also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Patterson Police Department.  Harrison and the driver of the vehicle, Jalon Jenkins were found to be in possession of suspected marijuana as well.  Both were arrsted and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.
