     Anthony James was located at the Patterson Police Department and placed under arrest on outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

     Kenneth Hamilton and Ashley Bocerra were arrested at a Highway 182 Lounge after officers were summoned to the lounge due to Hamilton causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.  As officers placed Hamilton under arrest, Bocerra became agitated, according to reports and began to create a disturbance.  She was also placed under arrest.  Both subjects, who were allegedly intoxicated were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

Scott A. Faulk, 44 years of age, Address-Duson, La. was arrested on 02/08/2014 @ 4:19am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Careless Operatin; Warrant: Calcasieu Parish-Unauthorized Use of an Access Card

     Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Federal Ave. near Everette St. and identified the driver, Scott Faulk, who according to reports, exhibited signs of impairment.  Faulk was transported to Teche Regional for minor injuries where a blood and urine test were provided.  Faulk was also found to be wanted by Calcasieu Parish authorities on an outstanding warrant.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  The results of the blood and urine test are pending.

      A patrolling officer detained a vehicle and it's driver, Matthew Batiste near the 600 Block of Sixth St.  The detention was based on traffic violations as well as outstanding warrants for Mr. Batiste.  During the investigation, officers uncovered suspected marijuana; paraphernalia and suspected cocaine.  The passenger inside the vehicle, identified as Keshay Julian was also arrested after it was learned that she received suspected marijuana which was located from Batiste. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

     Mr. Collins was arrested after officers detained a vehicle in the area of Highway 182 and Grizzaffi St. for traffic violations.  Mr. Collins, the driver of the vehicle was found to be wanted on oustanding warrants for Lafayette Parish and was arrested. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 Daniel J. Plaisance, 51 years of age, Address-Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 02/10/2014 @ 12:39pm

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

Daniel Plaisance was arrested at a Highway 182 Lounge after officers were flagged down regarding a disturbance in the parking lot.  Plaisance, who was identified as the subject causing the disturbance was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Janice C. Motte, 56 years of age, Address-Oak St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/09/2014 @ 2:52pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule III CDS-Hydrocodone

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 parking lot regarding a suspicious vehicle and occupants.  Officers located the subjects in question and during the investigation, located Hydrocodone, a controlled dangerous substance in the possession of Janice C. Motte.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Gary Draper was located at a Highway 182 business and placed under arrest after he was found in an intoxicated condition, barely able to stand.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Kelton J. Smith, 17 years of age, Address-Murial St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/30/2014 @ 5:50pm

Charge: Use of Tabacco in Jail Facility

     Smith, who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail facility was found to be using tobacco products while incarcerated which is prohibited by city ordinance.  He was arrested and booked.  He remains incarcerated.

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated; Resisting an Officer

     Detectives patrolling high crime areas in Morgan City observed a suspicious subject in an area which has been subject to narcotics complaints.  Officers approached and identified themselves to investigate.  The subject, upon seeing the officers fled on his bicycle.   Officers made several attempts to detain the subject but the subject refused to stop and continued to flee.  The subject fell from his bicycle during the pursuit and attempted to flee.  As offices attempted to subdue McCracken, he continued to resist and was restrained.  McCracken, who appeared highly intoxicated was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Richard W. Bates, 59 years of age, Address-Kaplan, La. was arrested on 01/31/2014 @ 2:05am

Charge: Entry on Premisis After being Forbid

     Richard Bates was located sleeping inside a Highway 182 construction site and placed under arrest.  Officers had previously encountered Bates at that location and had warned him against entering the site.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Arrest Report 02/11/2014

Charge: Warrant: Home Improvement Fraud; Warrant: Theft Over $500.00

     Shane LeBlanc was located at the Ascension Parish Jail and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  The warrant stemmed from an investigation by Morgan City Police Detectives which indicated that Mr. Leblanc had allegedly conducted business in the Morgan City area as "Cajun Construction" and had reportedly committed the theft of over $2,500.00 for services that were not performed.  LeBlanc was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  If anyone in the Morgan City area feels that they have been a victim of home improvement fraud by this or any other company should contact the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division @985-380-4605 or your local law enforcement agency.

Arrest Report 02/06/2014

The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 02/05/2014:

        Michael L. Miller, 33 years of age, Address-Midland, La. was arrested on 02/04/2014 @ 11:11pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDS-Marijuana with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Schedule II CDS-Ocycodone with the Intent to Distribute; Possession of Schedule II CDS-Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle driving by Michael Miller after he observed a traffic violation in the area of Sixth St. and Brashear Ave.  During the stop. according to the report, the subject appeared extremely nervous During the stop, a narcotics canine was summoned to the scene and performed a search of the exterior of the vehicle.  The canine, according to reports exhibited signs of the presence of illegal narcotic odor.  Officer searched the vehicle and were able to located two vaccuum sealed cellophane bags which contained suspected marijuana. a controlled dangerous substance.  Vacuum packaging is a comon trait used by narcotics traffickers to deter narcotics canine dogs from discovering contraband. Officers also located a substance believed to be methamphetamine, a controlled dangerous substance along with several pills of Roxycodone, another Schedule II CDS-  The subject was detained and arrested.  Investigators were able to uncover evidence which implicated the substances were purchased in the Morgan City area and were destined for sales.  The information was used to secure a search warrant for a Belanger Street residence.  Detectives conducted a search warrant and during the search warrant recovered additional evidence.  A large amount of marijuana, also sealed in vacuum packaging was located.  Detectives located Hashish, a Scheduled I CDS, Methamphetamine-a Schedule II CDS, Carisprodol- a Schedule II CDS, Hydrocodone-a Schedule III CDS, Clonazepam-a Schedule III CDS, Diazepam-a Schedule IV CDS,  and items of drug paraphernalia.   Investigators, according to the report, located several items such as scales, vacuum packaging equipment, dehydrators, packaging and other materials commonly used to narcotics traffickers.  Also located during the search, items, which according to the report are commonly used to manufacture synthetic marijuana.  

     The occupant of the resident, Jeremiah Fuhrer was detained and placed under arrest.  Investigators  reportedly located a large amount of U.S. Currency of various denominations and in various locations which was partially divided into various valued stacks.  Which can be another characteristic of narcotics trafficking activity.  The money was seized and discovered to be $47.960.00 in U.S. Currency.  According to reports it was seized for pending forfeiture and beleived to be derived from the illegal sale and procurement of illegal narcotics.  During the subsequent verification of the funds, a counterfeit $100.00 bill was located and removed as evidence.  

     The subjects, Michael Miller and Jeremiah Fuhrer were arrested, and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. Jeremiah Fuhrer was released after posting an $86,000.00 bond.  

     Jeremiah L. Fuhrer, 39 years of age, Address-Belanger St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/50/2014 @ 8:38 hrs.

     The Morgan City Police Department will continue to investigate the incident and make additional arrests if the evidence indicates other subjects were involved.

     Devan Serpa was located at a Glenwood St. residence and placed under arrest for outstanding warrants from the Morgan City Police Department.  She was transported to the Morgan City Jail Facility where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Mashane K. Charles, 24 years of age, Address-Leona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/29/2014 @ 8:32pm

Charge: Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Child Restraint

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Brashear Avenue regarding a complaint of a subject traveling in a vehicle with a child passenger not properly restrained. Officers located the vehicle and the driver, Mashane Charles who was advised of the complaint.  Charles was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  The child, which was not properly restrained was released to family members.

Charge: Fugitive Warrant: Montgomery County Sheriffs Department, Texas-Theft,Possession of Marijuana; Illegal Carrying of a Weapon

     Detectives of the Morgan City Police Department received information that a wanted fugitive from Montgomery County Texas was residing at a Highway 182 residence.  Detectives secured a search warrant for the subjects residence.  He was located at the residence and placed under arrest on the outstanding warrant.  He was incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail facility awaiting extradition to Texas.
