Arrest Report 05/21/2014

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 05/20/2014:

 

 

Tanisha L. Wilkerson, 38 years of age, Address-Grace St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/20/2014 @ 2:07pm

Charge: Theft of Goods Under $500.00; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Officers were dispatched to a local supermarket located on Brashear Ave. regarding a possible shoplifter.  When officers arrived they were told that employees had observed a female concealing items in a purse.  Upon confronting the suspect, the employees advised that the female fled to the rear of the store, into the warehouse and locked herself in a bathroom.  They advised that they beleived that the suspect was attempting to flush the concealed items down the toilet.  Officers located Tanisha Wilkerson in the bathroom area of the warehouse and detained her for questioning.  Several packs of seafood items were recovered.  The suspect, Tanisha Wilkerson was arrested and also found to possess a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Benn A. Kunu, 61 years of age, Address-Bowman St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/20/2014 @ 4:09pm

Charge: Simple Battery

Officers were dispatched to a Bowman St. residence regarding a subject who had been struck by another subject.  Officers arrived and during the investigation learned that the suspect, Benn Kunu had entered onto the property of another and when asked to leave, struck the victim in the face.  Kunu was located and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. 

 

 

Penny J. Johnson, 39 years of age, Address-Fifth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 05/20/2014 @ 10:45pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine-Careless Operation

Penny Johnson was located on Roderick St. in Morgan City and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  She was transported to the Morgan City Jail facility where she was booked and incarcerated.
