The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 07/07/2014:

 

 

Joseph G. Soto, 27 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/07/2014 @ 11:24am

Charge: Failure to Signal; Child Restraint Violation; Resisting by Giving False Information; Operating with a Suspended Drivers License; Warrant: Terrebone Parish-Domestic Battery (3rd Offense); Warrant: St. Mary Parish-Domestic Battery (2nd Offense)

     A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Ditch Ave. and Highway 182 in Morgan City and attempted to identify the driver, who provided a false name to the officer.  The officer was able to postively identify the subject as Joseph Soto.  Soto was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license..  He was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the Terrebone Parish Sheriff's Department as well as the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  The officer observed a small infant in the rear seat of the vehicle which was not properly restrained.  Soto was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Jill M. Parker, 39 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, on 07/07/2014 @ 1:45pm

Charge: Warrant: Drug Court Violation (2 Counts)La. was arrested

Jill Parker turned herself in to the Morgan City Police Department and was booked on outstanding warrants for failure to comply with terms of her Drug Court Probation.  She was booked and incarcerated with a $200,000.00 bond. 

 

 

Kilo White, 24 years of age, Address-First St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 07/07/2014 @ 3:43pm

Charge: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated; Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle w/ Crash; No Driver's License; No Insurance; Simple Criminal Damage to Property

Officers responded to a vehicle crash near the 100 block of Glenwood St. in Morgan City and arrived to find a partially clothed male subject walking in the roadway screaming incoherently.  The subject, identified as Kilo White was detained and found to be in an impaired condition and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.  White had an injury to his face. According to witnesses, the subject was observed operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed on Glenwood St. before losing control, striking a total of three vehicles and causing property damage by damaging shrubs and bushes on the properties.  A bystander who advised that he felt threatened by White who had approached him in an aggressive manner advised that he shoved White away from him causing him to fall against a parked utility trailer resulting in the facial injury.  White, who could not provide a drivers license, nor motor vehicle insurance was taken into custody and transported to Teche Regional Hospital where he was treated and released. He advised officers that he had consumed synthetic marijuana prior to the incident.   A blood test was taken and the results of that test are pending.  Kilo White was booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail facility.  

 

 

Justin D. Price, 25 years of age, Address-Gen MacArthur Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/07/2014 @ 7:00pm

Charge: Warrant: Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon or Instrumentality; Warrant: Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property

     In a continuation of an investigation of an Oak St. shooting which occurred on June 25, 2014, Morgan City Police Detectives arrested Justin Price.  In that incident several shots were fired which damaged vehicles and a residence in the Oak St. area.  Detectives, during their investigation uncovered evidence which indicated that Price fired the shots from a vehicle driven by or occupied by Patrick Leblanc who had previously been arrested by investigators.  Both subjects are accused of conspiring or being directed by a female, Devan Serpa who has also been arrested.  Justin Price turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked by detectives on the outstanding warrant. He remains incarcerated on a $15,000.00 bond. Crystal G. Thompson, 35 years of age, Address-Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/07/2014 @ 10:55pm

Charge:  Warrant:Conspiracy to Possess Schedule IV-Xanax; Warrant: Conspiracy to Introduce Contraband into a Penal Facility

     Morgan City Police Department Detectives with the Narcotics Division became aware of a plot to smuggle and introduce contraband into the Morgan City Jail and began an investigation.  During that investigation, investigators learned and uncovered evidence that a female, Crystal Thompson who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail facility was planning with another female, Kathryn Vines to conceal and smuggle Xanax, a Scheduled IV CDS along with other items of contraband into the facility for Thompsons use.  Detectives intervened and detained Kathryn Vines.  Both Vines and Thompson admitted to the plot during questioning by detectives.  Arrest warrants were obtained.  Vines was located on Greenwood and Federal Ave. in Morgan City and placed under arrest on the warrant>  Crystal Thompson was located in the Morgan City Jail facility where she was booked.  Both remain incarcerated.
