Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 48-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 75-calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 6/7/2021
Troy Carnley, 37 years of age, Address-Henry St., Patterson, LA., was arrested on 6/7/2021 at 12:26 A.M.

Meghan Lynn Cheramie, 29 years of age, Address-Park Rd., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 6/7/2021 at 12:26 A.M.

An officer with the Morgan City Police Department observed two individuals walking along the rear of a business on Roderick St. that was closed on May 7, 2021, around midnight. When the officers went to stop the two individuals, they fled on foot. The patrol officer observed the fleeing suspects left behind two 10 gallon marine-style fuel tanks. As other officers searched the area, officers located Troy Carnley and Megan Cheramie hiding on a nearby property. Officers learned the two fuel tanks had been stolen from a boat on Keith St. Officers searching the area located Troy Carnley and Megan Cheramie hiding on a nearby property. Troy Carnley and Megan Cheramie were identified as the same two suspects fleeing from officers earlier. They were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jesse Blakeman, 27 years of age, Address-Cypress St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 6/7/2021 at 6:22 P.M.

Edward Anthony Gil, 43 years of age, Address-Kimberly Dr., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 6/8/2021 at 6:19 P.M.

Lamarcus Jermaine Francois, 27 years of age, Address-Canary St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 6/8/2021 at 8:20 P.M.

Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
On June 7, 2021, at 6:42 P.M., officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to calls of shots fired on Railroad Ave. Responding officers located one male victim suffering a bullet wound to the thigh. The victim was transported from the scene to a New Orleans hospital, where he was treated and later released.
Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department developed Lamarcus Jermaine Francois as a suspect in the shooting. On June 8, 2021, Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department secured an arrest warrant for Lamarcus Jermaine Francois.
On the evening of June 8, 2021, Investigations with the Morgan City Police Department learned Francois was in the Kenner, LA area. Investigators and officers with the Kenner Police Department were able to locate Lamarcus Jermaine Francois in Kenner and place him under arrest.
Ward Howard Carlson, 60 years of age, Address-Fourth St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 6/8/2021 at 6/9/2021 at 12:58 A.M.
