MCPD Arrest Report 07/01/2021

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 43 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 06/30/2021:


Latisha S. Davis, 40, address: Pugh St. Pancourville, LA was arrested on 06/30/2021 at 9:30 am
Warrant: Hit & Run Driving


Magan R. Gaudet, 29, address: Parro Lane Berwick, LA was arrested on 06/30/2021 at 9:30 am.

Warrant: Failure to Pay Fines (7cts) City Court of Morgan City


Charles J. Smith, 40, address: Jackson, MS was arrested on 06/30/2021 at 3:25 pm.

Warrant: Theft under $1000.00
                  Illegal use of Counterfeit Trademark

Jimmy Gros 07012021

Jimmy J. Gros, 50, address: Lantanier St. Krotz Springs, LA was arrested on 07/01/2021 at 3:42 am

Charge: Theft- $1000.00- $5000.00
               Criminal Damage to Property $1000.00- $5000.00

Lee Covington VI, 41, address: Hwy 741 Arnaudville, LA was arrested on 07/01/2021 at 3:42 am

Charge: Theft $1000.00-$5000.00
                Criminal Damage to Property $1000.00-$5000.00

On June 30, 2021, the Morgan City Police Department responded to a local business on Front St. in regards to a catalytic converter missing from one of the company vehicles. The incident was captured on video surveillance and it was used to develop descriptions of the suspects involved. Through further investigation, a search warrant was obtained on a room at a local motel on Hwy 182. Located inside the room were two individuals identified as Jimmy Gros and Lee Covington. Also, located in the room were several catalytic converters.  Both Gros and Covingtion were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jadaveron Jennings 07012021

Jadaveron Jennings, 27, address: Russel St. Patterson, LA was arrested on 07/01/2021 at 1:13 am.
Charge: Simple Kidnapping
               Domestic Abuse Battery

Officers responded to a residence on Gen McArthur St. in regards to a domestic disturbance. Information was received that the suspect, Dajaveron Jennings had left the area with the victim in a vehicle, possibly headed to Patterson, LA. Patterson Police Department was contacted and given a description of the vehicle. Patterson PD located the vehicle on Bridge Rd. A traffic stop was conducted and Jennings was placed under arrest. The victim was unharmed. Jennings was then transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking
