The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 08/29/2014:

 

 

David R. Brown, 49 years of age, Address-Birch St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/29/2014 @ 12:54pm

Josephine Segura, 38 years of age, Address-Seventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/29/2014 @ 12:55pm

     Officers were dispatched to a Seventh St. residence regarding a disturbance.  When officers arrived, they discovered a male, David Brown and female, Josephine Segura involved in a verbal altercation in the front of the residence.  It was determined that both subjects had been involved in a fistic encounter which caused the disturbance.  Both had minor injuries and evidence of the encounter and were arrested.  They were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Marco Antonio, 40 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/30/2014 @ 7:16am

Charge: Aggravated Burglary

     Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 900 Block of Federal Ave. in regards to a battery on a person.  When officers arrived, they encountered the resident and homeowner who advised that while sleeping, he woke to encounter a male subject inside his residence who attacked  him.  The homeowner told officers that he was able to fend off the attack using a broomstick causing the attacker to retreat and leave the residence.  Officers were able to gather evidence at the scene which led them to an apartment located in the 1100 block of Federal Ave.  Officers were able to locate a suspect, Marco Antonio inside an apartment and postively identify him as the accused suspect.  Marco Antonio was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated with a bond of $50,000.00.  

 

 

Reynol Lopez, 28 years of age, Address-Main St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/30/2014 @ 5:01pm

Charge: Hit & Run Driving; No Drivers License

     Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Federal Ave. regarding a hit & run accident.  Officers arrived and learned that a vehicle had struck another vehicle causing the vehicle to strike and damage a utility pole in the area.  Witness observed the driver then flee the scene.  A bystander managed to follow the vehicle until police arrived and led police officers to the suspect and vehicle involved in the accident.  Officers proceeded to Railroad Ave. and located the suspect, Reynol Lopez who was positively identified as the suspect.  Lopez was arrested after he was found to be operating a vehicle with no drivers license and for Hit&Run.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Tyler M. Kapp, 23 years of age, Address-Crenshaw St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 08/30/2014 @ 8:52pm

Charge: Entry on Premises after being Forbid; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Tyler Kapp was removed from the fairgrounds at the festival by officers after he was observed causing a disturbance.  Officers later located Kapp, who returned to the area after being forbid.  He was arrested and found to be in possession of items of drug paraphernalia.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Mario Tejera, 29 years of age, Address-Marie St.  Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/30/2014 @ 9:49pm

Charge: Warrant: Probation Violation (2 Counts)

     Officers working security at the festival grounds observed a male subject, Mario Tejera who was known to be wanted on outstanding warrants.  Tejera was detained and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Logan Charpentier, 22 years of age, Address-Irish Bend Franklin, La. was arrested on 08/31/2014 @ 12:18am

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear-Possession of Tobacco Products under 18 year of age; Warrant: Failure to Appear for Arraignment-Vicious Dogs

     Officers working security at the festival grounds encountered a male subject Logan Charpentier who was discovered to be wanted on outsanding warrants dated from 2010.  Charpentier was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Manuel Mejia, 40 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/31/2014 @ 3:29pm

Charge: Careless Operation of Moveable; No Drivers License

     A patrolling officer encounted an traffic accident involving three vehicles at the intersection of Highway 182 near U.S. 90.  One driver, Manuel Mejia, according to witnesses struck a vehicle causing the vehicle to strike another causing the accident.  The driver, Mejia was found not to possess a valid drivers license and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  There were no injuries to report. 

 

 

Max Cordova, 39 years of age, Address-Aycock St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/31/2014 @ 5:12pm

Dusty L. Rineheart, 31 years of age, Address-Plaquemine, La. was arrested on 08/31/2014 @ 4:23pm

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Lake End Park regarding a complaint of a male subject attempting to drown a female.  Officers arrived and upon further investigation, learned from witnesses that a male subject, identified as Max Cordova was accused of approaching a 16 year old female juvenile in the water and begin to hold her head under water.  The subject, according to witnesses then attempted to remove the bathing suit top of the juvenile.  The juvenile manage to escape from the subject.  Witnesses advised that the male subject, Cordova then exited the water and was stopped by a witness, Dusty Rineheart who began to strike the subject, Cordova, causing injuries which required medical attention at Teche Regional Hospital.  Dusty Rineheart was arrested for the battery.  Cordova was arrested and transported to the hospital to receive medical treatment.  Upon his release, he was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  The female juvnile victim was not injured in the incident.  

 

 

Leslie M. Trant, 38 years of age, Address-Thibodaux, La. was arrested on 08/31/2014 @ 8:06pm

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated; Bypassing a Police Barricade

     An officer working security at the festival grounds observed a vehicle bypass the barricades near the fair grounds.  The vehicle was observed almost striking seveal bystanders in the area and was stopped by the officer.  The officer identified the driver, Leslie Trant who was found to be in a suspected impaired condition.  Trant was given a field sobriety test in which she failed.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 test which results indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .197g%.  Trant was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Karl Vaughn, 58 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/31/2014 @ 10:27pm

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated; Resisting an Officer; Remaining where Forbidden

     A patrolling officer working security at the festival grounds was directed by witnesses to two male subjects involved in an altercation.  As officers approached, one subject Karl Vaughn approached an officer within inches and began to yell profanities at the officer.  Another officer stepped in and moved Vaughn from the officer and intervened.  Vaughn, who continued his behavior was ordered to leave the premises which he refused to do so.  Officers then attempted to arrest Karl Vaughn at which time he resisted officers attempts and had to be physically restrained and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgna City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
