The following person was arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 07/12/2016. 
Malcoln J Smith Sr., 29 years of age, Address: Fern St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 07/12/2016 @ 5:07pm.

Charges:  Speeding
                  Driving Under Suspension
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Possession of Marijuana (Second Offense)

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Federal Avenue traveling at a rate of speed higher than the posted 25mph speed limit. The officer clocked the vehicle at 33mph at which time a traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Malcoln J Smith Sr. A drivers license check was conducted which revealed that Smith Sr. had a suspended drivers license. Smith's behavior arroused the officer's suspecions that Smith may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search was conducted when the officer located suspected drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Reports indicate that during the investigation, Smith was observed discarding an object from his person. The object was retrieved by the officer and identified as suspected marijuana. Smith Sr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
