The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 10/05/2016:

Tyus T. Jones, 17 years of age, Address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2016 @ 10:35 am. 

Charge: Warrant- Simple Battery

   Tyus Jones turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department for an  outstanding warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department.  Jones was booked and incarcerated. 
Michael A. Johnson, 56 years of age, Address- Lincole Dr. Patterson, La. was arrested on 10/05/2016 @ 7:25 pm.

Charge: No Turn Signal
               Possession of Scheduled II Drug with Intentent to Distrubute (Methamphetamine)
               Possession of Scheduled II Drug (Alprazolam)
               Possession of Marijuana 1st Offense
               Possession of Schedule IV Drug 2cts ( Morphine and Methandone)
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Violation of CDS Law- Drug Free Zone

   Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal at the intersection of LA 70 and Lakewood Dr. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Michael Johnson was asked to produce a valid driver's license. Officers asked for consent to search Johnson's vehicle, Johnson denied. The K-9 unit was called to the scene and the K-9 was deployed on the vehicle. Officers then located inside the vehicle suspected Methamphetamine packaged for sale, suspected marijuana, assorted pills identified as Alprazolam, Morphine and Methandone. There were also items used to smoke illegal drugs found in the vehicle. The location of the stop was located within 1000 feet of a local school which is considered a drug free zone.
