The following persons were arrested by the Morgan CIty Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 10/15/2016.

Lisa D Caruso, 42 years of age, Address: Glenwood St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/15/2016 @ 2:37am. 

Charges:  
Driving While Intoxicated
                  Improper Lane Usage
                  No Vehicle Insurance

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Hwy 182 near Roderick Street traveling outside of its designated lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Lisa D Caruso. During a traffic investigation, reports indicate that the vehicle did not have state required insurance. Caruso was also suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated according to reports. Caruso was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for further chemical testing where Caruso submitted to the Intoxilyzer 5000 yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .152 grams percent. Caruso was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. 

Denise M Aucoin 10152016

Denise M Aucoin, 36 years of age, Address: Mars St. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 10/15/2016 @ 3:01pm. 

Charges:  Possession of Schedule III CDS (Suboxone)
                  Attempted Distribution of a CDS (Suboxone)
                  Violation of Unifomred Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws (Drug Free Zone) 
                  Introduction of Contraband Into a Penal Institution
                  Improper Turning

Michael W Martin 10150216
Michael W Martin, 33 years of age, Address: Teche Rd. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 10/15/2016 @ 3:01pm

Charges:  Criminal Conspiracy
                  Attempted Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Insitution

     Officers located a package inside of an air vent in a visitaion room at the Morgan City Police Department Jail. The package was inventoried when officers located suspected suboxone and cigarettes. Reports indicated that Denise M Aucoin had just visted Michael W Martin who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail in that same vistitation room moments earlier.  Aucoin was observed by correctional officers getting into a vehicle and leaving the area.  A description of the vehicle was provided to patrolling officers when the vehicle was located on Hwy 70 traveling out of its designated lane. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Denise W Aucoin. During an investigation, reports indicate that Aucoin told officers that she had been communicating with Martin who had instructed her to leave the package containing the suspected suboxone and cigarettes in the air vent during visitation in an attempt to get the package inside the jail. A search was conducted when officers located more suspected supboxone on Martin. The location of the incident was withing the area of a drug free zone in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Aucoin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. Michael W Martin was additionally charged and booked.

Jeric J Bias, 40 years of age, Address: Arkansas St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/15/2016 @ 10:21pm.

Charge:  Simple Criminal Damage to Property 

     Officers responded to General Hodges Street in regard to reports of a subject beating on several doors in the area. A description was provided when responding officers located Jeric J Bias who matched the description in the area. During an investgation, reports indicate it was learned that Bias went to one of the houses banging on the door causing damage to the door. Evidence of the damaged door was observed by the officers and Bias identified by the victims. Bias was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
